Food was Perfect, great portions for the price, nothing was salty, bread was not overly sweet and coffee was AMAZING.
Very close to the authentic taste of Guatemala. If you want spicy, they deliver. Very humble owners, family buisness. Please support, don’t think twice, and you wont regret it.

I was looking for a Guatemalan place here in Arizona, I am very delighted to find this restaurant. The food is very authentic. Fresh bakery and delicious tamales!! Wow!! The service was spectacular, the ladies are very welcoming and super friendly. We will definitely return. It’s a must try for Authentic Guatemalan food (the place is small, like a small mom and pop shop).

The food is tasty and they give you good portions but the two times I’ve eaten here, they haven’t had half of the things I wanted to order (especially desserts, they never have rellenitos, pastelitos, flan, chuchitos). The caldo de res was very good, highly recommend. The mar y tierra was ok, the chicken seem dry as well as the carne asada seem tough. The pepian is good.

We enjoyed Guatemaya very much! My husband went to Guatemala on his mission trip, and he said the food here tasted authentic. I got the Hilachas dish and it was very tasty with good spice and flavor. Next time we’re in Arizona, we’ll definitely come here again. The staff was also very nice, and the decorations are very colorful. This is a great place to come if you’ve ever wanted to try authentic Guatemalan food!
Also they only accept cash, just a heads up!

Authentic Guatemalan Food – Worth the Experience (If You Know What to Expect)

As a native Guatemalan, I can confidently say this place is as authentic as it gets. The food is legit, and you’ll truly get the full Guatemalan experience.

That being said, this also includes Guatemalan-style customer service. None of the servers speak English, and there’s definitely no sense of urgency. If you’re used to the American standard of quick and attentive service, this might not be for you. Your food will take time to come out, and servers may occasionally forget items. On multiple visits, their internet was down, so I had to pay cash.

Despite all this, I keep coming back because the food is so damn good. The prices are amazing, and the flavors are phenomenal. Just know what you’re getting into: set your expectations accordingly, and you’ll enjoy a culinary experience that’s absolutely worth it. I highly recommend trying this place if you’re open to something different and delicious!

Very authentic restaurant. The food is amazing as well as the service. They also have a bakery with authentic breads and pastries. There are not many guatemalan food places in the east valley but this one is amazing. Very authentic from food to service to atmosphere.
