Kinda disappointed. The fried fish was good. The downside was the rice. I ordered the vegetable rice and there was barely any vegetables. The broccoli was not full broccoli only the stem of the broccoli, egg was non existent as well. The rice was dry but still had a smoky flavor. I didn’t like the sweet taste on the rice like they added some sugar to it. They should be ashamed of the egg rolls because I requested Philly egg-rolls and received what’s in the below picture. It was ground beef not steak. The small size of rice can barely feed a toddler and it’s a container for a slice of pie. Definitely won’t be making the drive to eat here again.

It’s a unique fried rice. It’s South Memphis style fried rice… with options like bologna, rib tip, and hamburger. The rice has a smoked flavor to it. The egg rolls are not much but the meats are a go to.

I almost don’t know where to begin. I ended up at KC’s because was in Memphis for a work trip and researched food. One night decided needed to check out KC’s.
WOW! I do not regret the trek. Now love all food, but Asian food is one of my go-tos. I didn’t know what to expect, but I kept reading about the rib tip rice, so that was the plan. I ordered the rib tip fried rice and two pieces of catfish.
20 minutes later my order was ready. I started eating in the car. The rice was perfect! It’s hard to explain because there was nothing fancy or seemingly complicated about it, but it was just “right”. Fried rice, great rib meat, and smoky. But this odd smoky that lingered in your mouth in a perfect way. I decided to eat the catfish on the provided roll because I didn’t think it would reheat well. It was a good piece of fish. Lightly breaded, crisp, slightly seasoned. But no match for the rice. Honestly, it was a giant serving of rice that as much as I wanted to savor it, I also felt like I couldn’t shovel it in to my mouth fast enough. I can’t say enough, it was perfectly simple. And the rice itself had pieces of stuff in it. While not totally sure, I think there was beef, chicken, ham, bologna, and pork.
If you want something unique, off the beaten path, and comforting, go eat this rice!
