Empire Chinese Restaurant in Tallahassee is a true local gem that delivers exceptional food, generous portions, and friendly service every time. From the moment you step inside, the space feels clean, inviting, and well cared for. The menu offers a wide range of classic Chinese dishes that strike the perfect balance of flavor, freshness, and comfort. Favorites like the Honey Chicken, with its crisp coating and perfectly sweet glaze, or the tender Beef and Broccoli, cooked just right with a savory sauce, showcase the kitchen’s attention to detail. The Lo Mein and Fried Rice are consistently flavorful and never greasy, making them reliable go-to dishes. For appetizers, the dumplings and crispy spring rolls are standouts that always impress.

Service at Empire is fast, polite, and efficient, whether you’re dining in or grabbing takeout. Orders are prepared promptly and double-checked for accuracy, which is always appreciated. The staff maintains a friendly, professional demeanor that makes every visit pleasant. Another highlight is the value — portions are generous, often large enough for leftovers, and prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity you receive.

Overall, Empire Chinese Restaurant stands out as one of Tallahassee’s best spots for Chinese cuisine. It’s consistent, satisfying, and dependable — the kind of place you can count on for a great meal every single time. Whether you’re a local regular or just passing through, Empire Chinese is absolutely worth a visit and deserves every bit of its stellar reputation.

10000/10 probably one of the best Chinese take outs in Tallahassee. Their food is so good and their crab rangoons 10/10. The shrimp lo mein 10/10 sesame chicken. Food is always fresh and hot. A little expensive to me but it’s worth it. If u want good food you’ll pay the price too. Highly recommend

Classic Chinese take-out! They packed and filled the containers to the brim so there was plenty of food for leftovers. The combination platters are a fantastic deal. I got the pepper steak and it tasted fantastic. The vegetable lo mein was also good, but the noodles were a bit thicker than I expected.

The food took roughly 20 minutes or less to prepare. The restaurant is conveniently located in the Lake Ella Plaza, so there are many things to do while waiting if you don’t call ahead!

The service was friendly and quick.

The food is good, but be careful of doing orders online. I did one and for some reason it wouldnt go through- not because of the card, funds were there-now the funds have been on hold for a week now.
I still went and got my food with cash, just would like the funds on my card to stop being withheld

The food here is usually good and fresh. I stick to the honey chicken which has always been solid, so I cannot speak much on other menu items.

The issue for me is the service. Every time I come in, it’s the same situation: several people are working in the back, but nobody ever approaches the front in a timely manner. It’s always the one young man handling customers, and honestly, the way he interacts doesn’t feel right.

One experience that really stood out was when a white customer came in. Staff from the back greeted him right away and got to helping him immediately. On my visits, though, I’m left standing there waiting while they finish whatever tasks they want to do in the back before even acknowledging me.

When I finally do get helped, the process is still frustrating. You have to go through a phone number (sometimes the last 4 digits and sometimes all 9 digits when the receipt also has the first and last name) every single time to verify an order, even though I come in regularly. It feels like there’s no consistency, no urgency, and no real customer service effort for specific groups of people.

Completely messed up my order. I drove 20 minutes back home only to realize that they did not give me Mongolian beef, but some other beef with vegetables which really had no flavor and no sauce. It was very strange.

Pretty solid American Chinese food. Definitely better than Panda Express. I’ll probably eat from here when I’m craving American Chinese food again.
Edit: I had bowel issues after eating from here.
