I drove from Toronto to take my son to Dick’s sporting goods randomly today. I spotted this place and thought I’d give it a try. I will say it was underwhelming. The margarita was watered down and my tacos were the worse I’ve ever tasted. I had the gringo definitely depicted what the word means in Latin culture. It was definitely an Old El Paso kit used for the that one. The bang band shrimp was fried in old oil and overcooked, it also tasted like it had mayo in it. I personally felt it was not even close to authentic Mexican and hope that the owner finds a Mexican to help them with their menu. It’s in a great location and I’m sure it has the potential to be a phenomenal business if they can get their menu right.

Lindsey was the best part of the experience. We sat in the igloo, it was a little chilly at first with just two heaters, but the restaurant brought two more which quickly warmed the area. Food was very good. Lindsey our waitress went above beyond. Not only did she serve our food and drinks to the table, she had to zip and unzip the igloo each time, brought the extra heaters in, shoveled by the door and brought a mat, because of the ice. She was so friendly, great attitude and just made the evening special. She would be the reason I go back to dine here. Haven’t had a waitress like this in a long time.

My wife and I were excited to try this new addition to the Village of Lancaster. When we walked in we were politely greeted and quickly seated. Overall, the best part of the experience was the service. Our server was personable and helpful.
The atmosphere was confusing compared to the menu. It has elements of being modern with sparse decorations. There is this weird fusion of Mexican and Hibachi which did not work. Our dishes had a different type of flavor. For example the red sauce almost tasted like a sweet pizza sauce.
I hope they can figure out their menu. The entire experience can be summed up in one word: “confused”.

Lovely afternoon on the patio! Spicy Skinny Margarita and our taco selections were wonderful. The only negative, came late in our visit, when we realized that all the other seated parties had been brought water, and chips/salsa. None were offered to us. Maybe next time!

Food was delicious. Especially the chicken fajitas and rice. Also had the chicken enchiladas, that was really good too. Just the right amount of sauce and flavor. The house margarita was perfect and just the right size. My kid loved the taco in a bag. It would be nice to see a kids quesadilla on the menu maybe. The chips and guacamole were also very good, not spicy at all.

I was excited to try this new addition to the town of Lancaster, but it fell short across the board. The service was the best part of the experience. The side of the restaurants with the booths felt like a cafeteria…The music was interesting, a pop mix, not what you’d expect for Mexican, but then again, it is the furthest from authentic. We started with the queso dip which was tasty and the best part of the meal, but I imagine it was out of a package just like everything else was. The salsa was not homemade, it tasted like jarred Tostitos salsa. They don’t have homemade hot sauce either, they only had Cholula…The meals fell short. We got the taco salad with chicken and the chicken was tough. The avocados looked and tasted odd, kind of like they had been frozen and thawed before serving. Slimy looking, almost. The salad was very basic: they just threw some corn, beans, tomatoes, and some kind of seasoned pita chips crushed up on the salad that I could have done without. It was not good at all…it came with a thick chipolte-like dressing I did not care for…My mother had a ground beef taco and the fajita-style taco which kind of looked like an Asian stir fry type dressing. All around the service was wonderful, the server came back several times asking how everything was, if we needed anything. It was not her fault, I didn’t want to complain to her for the horrendous food. We will not be back. I would be surprised if this spot makes it a few more months, unfortunately.

Papi Grande’s is a vibrant new addition to the heart of the Village of Lancaster! You’ll find it in the freshly finished building on W. Main, right in the thick of downtown’s charming shops, bakeries, ice cream parlor, wine bar etc. They’re still putting the final touches on things, including what looks to be a fantastic and spacious patio deck, but even now, the food options are appealing—from quick bites to full meals—and the full bar is a definite plus. Service was top-notch from the moment we walked in. We’re really excited to see Papi Grande’s thrive and can’t wait to come back for another visit, hopefully enjoying that completed patio!

Decent food at reasonable price, alcohol a bit pricey. Service was very good, waitress very attentive.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Papi Grandes, and it was such a memorable experience! It was my first time ever going out to eat by myself, and I couldn’t have chosen a better place. My waitress, Mia, was absolutely amazing. She was so sweet and made me feel completely at ease. She even surprised me with a delicious virgin margarita because I couldn’t decide what flavor I wanted. complete with a fun flavor and a cute presentation—she really went above and beyond! The taco salad, chips, and salsa were all delicious as well. Overall, I had such a great time and will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

A chill spot with a nice patio for the summer. The birria egg rolls were so good and the tacos were good but not great.
