The lady was super nice, she asked if we were from out of town and I told her we were from Moses lake but that I always miss them when they are in town. She then offered to bring out fresh bread (the one that has jalapeño and cream cheese) so of course we said yes! It was so warm and delicious!

La Popular used to have good food. But it has gone downhill. They also seem to have a hard time getting the orders correct. My husband handed them a written take out order. My order was for Quesa Berria tacos. I received bland beef tacos, this is the 2nd time this has happened. The first time, he caught it and they fixed it. The others were also disappointed in their meals. I’ve lived here 40 years and have always loved this restaurant. It’s not what it used to be. Tonight was our final order.

The food was really good and the service was good. I’m not sure if the prices are crazy or if there was just a language barrier, but I was charged 5 dollars for the smallest scoop of guacamole ever, I just had to laugh it off.

So I reviewed this place years ago and was very happy with it. Last time I ate there this past year, the restaurant was updated with a new menu and management it seemed. My meal, that I always get (enchilada combo), was OK but definitely not as good as it used to be and it cost more than the menu listed it as. This time I ordered the same and it came out nothing like the picture in the menu. They made it without enchilada sauce and cheese. So meat in a tortilla. They seemed to be good with it. The other two meals were also without the anticipated cheese. So maybe they ran out of both but I think they should stop making menu items then or inform the customer. At $13+ a plate they need to do better. I will try other taco trucks in the area until I hear better. The bakery side still looks good with a good selection of breads and pastries!

My son went in today 5/ 28/ 2025 he ordered a torta he told the per taking his order no hot peppers and still put in jalapeño he was asked if he wanted in the side rice and beans instead they put losts of french fries I wonder if they are deaf never again will he eat at this restaurant
