Unfortunately after giving a five star review for this restaurant 18 months ago I am now rescinding. The ownership has changed or is in the hands of family members that give subpar service. The food is now unacceptable. This carry out is no longer family owned obviously. Panda Express is a better way to save money if you want bad food. Any chicken dish: General Tso’s, Orange Chicken, etc. all use the same unflavored sauce. It’s horrible! No filling to the crab rangoons. I ordered Kung Pao shrimp and there were only 6 small pieces of shrimp, the rest of it was just undercooked vegetables. Horrible!

First & last time ordering from them. I’ve never seen anything like this. Chicken was grey/discolored & very hard. The rice was so bland and plain. I couldn’t even bring myself to try the hunan “chicken” after seeing the fried “chicken” but it didn’t look great. The mumbo sauce, trash. Best thing was the fries and those were very average. The delivery guy was very nice though.

I was unable to order from Good Luck for many months because they were closed due to COVID 19. I couldn’t find another restaurant during that time in the area that could compare. I was SO happy when they reopened!
Chicken and broccoli and a veggie spring roll is my go-to but everything I’ve had from here has been good. Prices are reasonable and competitive and I’ve always been treated nicely (carry out and delivery). I usually order for carry out, but have been happy with the food, service, and delivery times when I’ve ordered delivery. Good food and good service at Good Luck!

This was my first time here, being new to the area. It was just ok. I bought combination fried rice, fried wonton, egg rolls, BBQ spare ribs and white rice. The fried rice was very good and had good flavor. The rest of the food is all a pass. The ribs were greasy and didn’t have flavor. They looked good but was not good. The fried wontons were fried so hard they were hard to eat, if you could bite into it. The meat was none. The egg rolls just had cabbage and nothing else in the egg roll.
Bottom line: Good combination fried rice. The rest of the order a pass. Not worth the $40.00 bucks.

Some of the BEST Chinese food in Alexandria City! I was lost when Good Luck was closed due to COVID-19. Every other Chinese restaurant I tried that was open did not compare. I was so happy when they reopened for business! My go-to is chicken and broccoli.
The prices are good and they have lunch specials. If you pick up, there’s plenty of parking. If you order delivery (you can order online or by phone), food’s delivered quickly, correctly, and with a smile.

I drove all the way from Waldorf to get food. Spent $89.35. Gave them a $10.65 tip. I ordered two dishes with white rice and received fried rice. I ordered crab Rangoon and did not receive them. The chicken wings were miniature size. They tie the bags up so tight you can’t get in unless you tear it up. The food was tasteless. No scallions. No spice in the Singapore meifun. I had to redo it adding res pepper flakes, salt and other flavoring. This is not what I experienced 4 years ago so I guess they changed their cook?? Will not return.

It was around 7 PM and I was REALLY feeling like some Chinese food. So I went to the web and ordered General Tso’s Chicken Chef Specialty and Vegetable Lo Mein from Good Luck. It had a 4 star rating so I figured I would try it. I sent out the order at around 7:11 and the driver showed up about 30 minutes later. That was great – well within the 45 minute standard I use in most of my reviews. Not only was he polite but his delivery time was faster then some of the delivery places who are only a few blocks away from me.
When I saw the chicken I WAS kind of worried. It was a very dark sauce, darker than I am use to with my Tso’s chicken, and I thought maybe it had been over cooked and the chicken could be dry and hard. Nope, just a different types of sauce. Not as sweet as I was use to but still great tasting. And the chicken was all moist and VERY hot still – ouch. And the container was packed – they really must have shoved the chicken into it.
The Vegetable Lo Mein was also hot and there was a lot of it. Only complaint I can think of is there was there seemed to be a LOT more noodle than vegetables. But I LIKE noodles so that is more of a nitpick than a real complaint.
They also sent, with the food, normal extras. Sauces, napkins, forks, so on. There is REALLY nothing bad I can say about their delivery service for my first order from them. Five stars.
I was so busy eating I forgot to take the normal photos I do with these reviews!
Update – Ordered General Tso’s Chicken Chef Specialty, a Diet Pepsi, and a Egg Roll. Got to me well within a reasonable time, driver was polite, and the food was still warm and very good. No complains and even got a photo this time!

My whole family loves their fried rice and orange chicken. Every time we what to eat Chinese food this is our place. They give you nice portions and the service is nice. The ladies in the front are always gentle and give us hot sauce and condiments when we request them.

The food here was good but the upcharges are a little high. We ordered chicken with fried rice and chicken and broccoli with fried rice. There is a $3 upcharge for any meat addition to the rice/ order. It more affordable to just order the side of pork/shrimp/ or chicken fried rice for $4.99 just as a heads up. Overall the food is good and service is quick.
