We were heading home looking for a place to eat. Definitely happy with the Google suggestion.

This hidden gem is definitely worth visiting. While parking may be a bit tight, but you’ll fit in.

Not a big restaurant, but the ambience was nice and cozy.

Service was great and friendly.

Our appetizer came out in 5 and main course in 10. Everything was delicious.

We had the Beef carpaccio appetizer. Had a nice vinegarette taste to it and had some crunch bits to it. Was yummy and enough for 2.

Both our Pho had lots of meat and noodles, which makes a big difference.

Washrooms were clean and well maintained.

Overall a great experience, would definitely come back and try other things.

Amazing Vietnamese restaurant! We had the pho – the beef was excellent and the broth was rich and flavorful. My wife ordered the vegan pho, and both the broth and vegetables were delicious.
The mango passionfruit spritz was the absolute highlight, so refreshing and tasty!

We really enjoyed our meal tonight. We had never been but I would go back. There was two of us and we shared one appetizer, two mains and each had a drink. The food was well presented, had great flavour, service was very friendly, and the price point was very reasonable.

The food here will never let you down. My go to is the spicy peanut satay pho. The spring rolls and salad rolls are amazing but if I order them I have trouble finishing my pho! Great value for your money. Make reservations if you plan on going for Friday lunches or weekend evenings. Try their different flavoured Vietnamese coffees too! They’re all good. They have one dessert that’s homemade and occasionally sells out. So fingers crossed they have it when you go. Just try it. You won’t be disappointed. Portions again are great. That’s coming from a 6’5″ giant.

Absolutely enjoyed our dinner experience here. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. I love how they bring Vietnamese food to a higher-end experience (with still affordable prices). People normally associate Vietnamese food with cheap but not many people know it takes so much effort and it is really complex to make some dishes. So I’m glad that Le Colonial is helping change people’s perception and elevating the Vietnamese food scene. Will definitely come back.

We ordered the Bo Tai Chanh (10/10), Frog legs (8/10-very buttery and tender meat but a bit greasy for us), Chicken sticky rice (8.5/10 – the chicken is seasoned perfectly and super juicy and tender but the sticky rice can be a bit heavy for people that are not used to it), le colonial rolls (7.5/10-good but not too special), wok vermicelli (8.5/10 – very tender and flavorful beef), coconut iced coffee (10/10 – love it)

Love this one.

Mango Salad with Shrimp (5/5) – the grilled shrimp was perfectly cooked
Beef Carpaccio (5/5) – the Vietnamese sauce on this one works so well
Le Colonial Rolls (5/5) – the fresh veggies inside gaves a good crunch and bite feel on the roll
Special Pho (3/5) – not a fan of this one, it lacks the deep umami taste of a pho, there’s better pho options around the city if you’re just looking for pho.

My picture shows the absolutely delicious appetizers of fresh salad wraps, chicken with sticky rice and whole squid. The sticky rice has a sweetness to it that I loved. The whole squid was incredible. We also had spring rolls (not shown) that were light delicate and crispy. I was so full from appetizers the vermicelli bowl I ordered mostly came home with me because I had to enjoy their delicious banana cake for dessert. The service was very attentive.
My only drawback was the very uncomfortable couches are not cut out for sitting forward and eating at a table. I see some people had pillows, I did not.
I recommend reservations.

The food tasted amazing and each dish at our table was so nicely presented. How the food looked and tasted matched the room as well. It’s almost a mix of classy and cozy in there (there are comfy couch booths!). The staff were super friendly and helpful! I will be back many more times!

We drove from the west side of town for East Indian food next door. Noticed that Le Colonial was nearly full and Shahi Flame was empty. I’m vegetarian, wife is more flexible. We decided to go for Vietnamese.
Seated immediately, the place is buzzing with so many people and conversations but not stupid loud. The waitress who seated us took the time to explain pretty well the whole menu to us as my wife indicated it was our first time there.
We ordered summer rolls with peanut sauce (with shrimp) and soup, for an appetizer. They were delicious. I had veggie wok noodles and wife had bbq short ribs with rice. Mine 5 star. I would definitely get again. Wife’s 4 star. The flavor was definitely good. But they take 4 ribs, slice thru the bone sideways about 2-3mm thick. It’s marinated then probably pan fried, maybe broiled. The flavor was good for sure, but the meat was really stuck to the bone, so it was hands on dig in with your teeth to tear off the small amount of meat there. And then it was more chewy and tough- she’d prefer fall off the bone buttery. Would likely not order again. Plenty of food to take home for lunch the next day. By the way, we were going for East Indian food because there’s always plenty to take home for tomorrow.
No drinks for us other than water. With tip we’re out the door under $80. Great reviews online we found out later. Very well deserved! We will definitely go back there.
