A great hidden gem within Battle Creek. This may be a small diner, however they have big flavor, terrific workflow and communication. In the short time I was here as a customer, I’d seen them turn out great looking dish after dish after dish. Sunrise has a large menu and very good sounding specials on the board. I’ve only been here a few times, and it’s been fantastic every time. I would highly recommend the Irish omelette with American fries, I like adding green peppers and onions to them ️

Service was top notch! It felt like they all were my server, in the best way! My actual server was very sweet, unfortunately I did not get her name.

Food was amazing! I had the brisket omelette, and it was soooo big! I also love the open kitchen!

The food was great, the staff was really friendly and I like the open kitchen design! Looks clean and you can watch your food being prepared.
It’s a small place with limited parking, so there may be a wait during peak breakfast hours. I’d certainly recommend this place for breakfast, so long as you don’t mind waiting for a table.
PS: The hallway to the bathrooms is extremely narrow, so keep this in mind if you have limited mobility.

Soooo freakin good!!! Bagel with philly steak, cheese, cream cheese, egg called the Giorgios Ranchers Bagel Sandwich. Staff was wonderful and attentive. Definitely coming again! Need to try the hot honey chicken and waffles.

I took a chance while happening to be in Pennfield. Absolutely amazing food. I ordered the Ranchers Omelette, which is made with Ribeye, Onions, and mushrooms. Might be the best Omelette I have ever had. Cooked to perfection. Fast paced, small diner atmosphere. Busy because they deserve it. They were well-staffed, and the waitress was highly efficient and very personable. Amazing by any standard. It was fun just to in there watching the diner run like a well-oiled machine during a rush. Everyone in there should get a raise. And kudos to the ownership who has clearly figured some things out that other places have not. Even if you’re far from Pennfield, Mi, this place is worth the drive.

We recently moved to Battle Creek, and heard this was a nice breakfast place. Stopped in on a Sunday just before noon. Its a small restaurant, almost hard to see. Parking is tight. There are 7 tables inside and 4 bar/counter seats. The place was packed, but tables were turning at a good rate. We only waited a couple minutes and a table opened up. First impression is the place is lively and upbeat. There seemed to be plenty of regulars as the cooks greeted several by name. The busser cleaned our table and got our drinks and brought us menus. Our server was quick, friendly, and gave us time to look things over. The menu is big, yet concise. Full breakfast offerings and limited lunch offerings. There was a chalkboard with maybe 7 or 8 additional specials. It was a diner feel without the usual trappings of a diner (i.e. ridiculously large menu, dirty, grumpy servers, etc.) I watched the employees as our food was prepared and the teamwork was excellent, and the attitudes were even better. The energy and music was loud, so if you want a quiet spot to read and have a cup of coffee, maybe Sunday isn’t the best day to eat here.

We ordered cheese curds as an appetizer, my son ordered the “award winning brisket mac & cheese,” and I had the hangover skillet with sausage gravy. The pricing of the appetizer section was great, so I encourage all try something. These apps won’t fill you up, so definitely not meal replacements. The curds were big cubes, with an off-color breading. Almost like they were frozen, thawed, then fried. They were ok, nothing special. The real highlight was the entrees. Come hungry. My son’s brisket mac & cheese looked very creamy and cheesy. He said it was one of the best loaded macs he’s ever had. The brisket burnt ends looked dry to me, but he said they were tender and delicious. My “hangover skillet” is a monstrosity that everyone should experience at least once. Its your traditional breakfast (eggs, hashbrowns, choice of meat, and cheese) sandwiched between 2 giant pancakes. I asked for sausage gravy to be added which they smothered the top with. Usually a meal like this you don’t really expect any ingredient to stand out, its just comfort food. This is the opposite. The pancakes were amazing (no syrup needed, although I did hit it with some hot sauce). The sausage was some of the best sausage patties I’ve had. The eggs were cooked perfect, and even the hashbrowns were crisp! The gravy had real chunks of sausage and a mild sage flavor. I don’t think too many people finish this meal. I ate just over half and decided I wanted to do more than go home and sleep, so I boxed up the rest. Payment was processed smoothly tableside and the credit card slip was handed to me. We left full, happy, and excited that we found a great place thats close by. The meal was reasonably priced, and we were thanked by an owner on the way out. 10/10 would recommend and we will be back.

i almost don’t want to write a review because there’s still availability. i do not like breakfast because at restaurants it’s usually bland and blah. this place is great. i got waffles w chicken, brown sugar and hot honey. it was so sooooo good. and they served each person as it was ready. i cannot explain how much i appreciate that instead of waiting till everyone’s plate at the table is ready. amazing.

I got the Country fried steak and eggs and a pancake and my boyfriend got the honey hot brown sugar chicken and waffles. I tried his too of course and both plates were incredible. We have a new favorite breakfast spot and I’m told that my Grandpa loved this place. May he rest in peace.

Came here with my wife for breakfast on Monday. It’s a very Mom and Pop restaurant, and the staff are very conversational, especially with the ones you can tell are regulars. We split the hangover skillet. That hit the spot and it was pretty good! It was cooked well too, nothing was over or undercooked.
