We were traveling through from Texas to Mississippi. There was a detour due to a traffic incident on the highway. After searching for a place to eat, we decided to try Big J’s. The food was great and the service was even better. It may not have been the best bbq in all my life, but Big J is thoughtful of the quality and food combinations. He was short staffed and working hard, but still had time to check on all customers and take care of his regular patrons! Being in business for yourself is never easy, but Big J knows how to treat people well. We wish him much success for years to come!

Wow! Big J’s Side Porch blew us away. The brisket and pork ribs were melt-in-your-mouth tender and bursting with smoky flavor—the car STILL smells like smoked food and we’re not mad about it! Fries were perfectly crispy, onion rings just as good.
On top of that, the service was fantastic. I’m pretty sure Tracie took our phone order and helped us at the window—super friendly both times, which I really appreciate as someone who gets nervous calling in orders.
We’ve officially found our new go-to stop when passing through. Can’t wait to come back!

This is a good little bbq joint. I had the two meat bbq plate with brisket and smoked sausage. The brisket was cold and bland but the smoked sausage was amazing. I got two sides with the meal. Both the mac and cheese and the baked beans were good. My server was very attentive and pleasant. The food came out quick. I would definitely recommend everything I ordered but the brisket.

Visited Big J’s with 9 people on a Saturday, the place was dead. Why? I couldn’t tell you. The customer service and bbq were beyond exceptional. The waitress Tracy, was so kind and friendly. Big J hand delivered our food, minutes from when we ordered. I can’t wait to add this to our usual spots! Thanks Big J and Tracy!!!

Hit the drive thru on the way home tonight for dinner. Did not disappoint. The drive thru girl was absolutely darling; she recommended several appetizers and entrees ALL WERE DELICIOUS. Great service great food. Can’t wait to come back to dine in!

Wow! We just moved to Clinton from Austin TX….and the Big J’s Sampler was better than any BBQ we have ever had in Texas. So good!

I loved the atmosphere. The service was great. And food was amazing!!! We had the boudin/ brisket burrito with crawfish cream sauce. I felt like I was back home on the bayou in cajun country. And the onion rings with remoulade sauce was so good.

Nice little place to spend some time with the family. Nice shaded outdoor table set-up with a chill and cozy atmosphere. A lot of good choices on the menu, which includes BBQ, sandwiches, and of course burgers.
Speaking of burgers, the one I was served (pictured) was a chunky boy! Honestly one of the best I’ve had.. which is saying something considering I’ve had quite a few good burgers in my day.
Will definetly be back to try other menu items. Especially their BBQ.
