Amazing pizzas. Pretty much any of the pies we got in the right side were great. One of us couldn’t stop going for a piece of Wierd Al Pastor. I love the Ace of Spades with the hot honey. The staff was SO accommodating with it large party despite mostly 4tops and busy Sunday night traffic.

In town for s quick get away and was referred to this place… great place to hang out! We watched a football game, hadcdrinks,appetizers and wings. Wanted to try the pizza off the month, but we were too full.
After packing up in the morning we decided to make a stop there at lunch time and take the pizza of the month in the car for lunch on the way back to Raleigh… we split an order of JoJo’s while we were waiting for the pizza to be baked and we can’t wait till we get back in town to see what they have up their sleeve for the next Pizza of the month

Was in town for a show and my travel partner found this place. I looked at it and agreed. We were in early on a Sunday evening. We went all appetizers + cocktails. We got the marinated olives (decent). We got the clam strips;they were a tad overcooked. We got the meatballs. They were the best of the three appetizers. My old fashioned was good. Service at the bar was decent but nothing special. Our server was pleasant. Definitely believed in less is more. The space is very nice. Really has a cool vibe. If I went back I would definitely try something else.

I ordered the Kevin McCallister cheese pizza, and the marshmallow cookie dough chocolate cake. The pizza is a thin crust, and the amount of cheese on it is just right. The outer edge of the crust was burnt, but I can forgive that. As for the dessert, if you like chocolate cake, then you’ll like the marshmallow cookie dough chocolate cake. Overall, very good food.

Had a 9-hour layover and decided to stop in for lunch—great choice. Chelsea, the bartender and a local guide, was incredibly pleasant and welcoming, setting the tone for a great visit. I ordered the pizza lunch special, which came with an 8-inch slice and a side, and the food was outstanding. Excellent service, delicious food, and a comfortable atmosphere. Highly recommend this place!

Yum! Delicious crispy thin crust pizza with homemade red sauce and honestly one of the best bloody Mary’s I’ve ever had. Yes with a slice of cold pizza on top the vibe is warm, slightly hipster decor, and seemingly beloved by locals. Very good!

First time at the Jaybird Tavern. Seated quickly. Our server was new, that’s ok! We have all had a first day at some point. But our bar drinks didn’t arrive until after we finished our appetizer. What saved the experience for us was the manager Elliot. What a saving grace he was! He picked up on everything and really gave us the best restaurant experience we have had in a long time. He corrected every error in the moment and was very genuine in doing so. You could really tell he is passionate about what he does. The Ace Of Spades pizza was great and the wings were good, but came out cold. Elliot to the rescue! Will return because of the stellar service of management. It takes time to work out kinks at a newer restaurant and I think this place has super potential!

Good pizza but if they could get the center of it to match the firm crispness of the edges it would be fantastic. Nice staff and attentive when not “catching” a smoke break. Pleasant atmosphere. Prices are a bit high, but that goes for ANY place in Downtown Roanoke due to city lease rates. I avoid Downtown Roanoke (parking difficulty and rates, vagrants, and crime) like the plague but wanted to try this place out.

Newer restaurant in downtown Roanoke with a little NY flavor, nice atmosphere, nice bar area, food and service were both great. Our server De’Shawn did a great job, was very helpful with menu selection. All of the food was great, the smoked trout dip was very nice and the pizza was a very refreshing pie that was very flavorful and a nice change for the area. They do different specials weekly, and have t-shirts for sale. Again all the food was very good. This was our first time eating here and will definitely be back.
