BEST JAMAICAN FOOD HANDS DOWN! During the snow storm I was stuck in a hotel in Brooklyn and I ordered this place on uber eats and got the cook up with boiled dumplings and some porridge. I was so shocked that they would even be open and I felt so lucky someone delivered it. Can you believe after 2 hours on waiting for the delivery the food was still warm It was my first time trying food like this and the flavors were bursting! You know when food is so good you crave it again the very next day? That’s what happened the food was just as consistent and had me filled all day. Weeks later I’m craving that porridge and I decide to go to the actual restaurant. The staff was super friendly and the food was just as good as I remember. I recommend this place to anyone craving good authentic Jamaican cuisine. Sooooo delicious!

Food is usually delicious. Not a very wide variety. Soups are the best. Curried shrimp is very good although portions tend to be more rice than shrimp. Servers tend to have a very serious attitude with no smiles.

Lots of options available. Ordert he escovich chicken but it was covered in a space that was way too sweet and a side of mac and cheese that was lacking flavor. The brown stew chicken and rice a peas is OK. Not as good as it once was.

I called ahead of time to ask some questions about the foods they offered since I couldn’t find a menu online. The woman answered all my questions and even told me about the daily lunch special! When I got there, I let them know I called earlier and she remembered me and fixed my plate. Had no problem subbing extra vegetables instead of the rice.
The place was clean and food was delicious.
The curry goat is spicy while the ox tail is slightly sweet. The peas and rice are great but I love the cabbage the most!

I go there just for the porridge.. I always get a Lil attitude because I ask for a certain container to put it in but they always give me what I want. The taste is perfection. Can be a Lil sweet but not overbearing. Worth the price

If I could rate higher, I would!!! I’ve tried different Jamaican restaurants in NYC, even the most popular ones everyone goes to to, but Yard Flavors on Hempstead Turnpikes remains one of the best jamaican taste I ever had in the area. The food is excellent! Prices increased due to the cost of living but reasonable compare to other places since YARD FLAVORS’ food and service are actually WORTH every penny (still cheaper than these other famous jamaican restaurants)…. and if you think these other places served good food, wait till you try Yard Flavors’.

First let me say I don’t do reviews! But today I had to!!! I ordered lunch carrot cake and cow foot with steam veggies and rice and peas this was my first time ordering from here everything was disgusting $29.97 with delivery fee I just threw it all in the garbage. They didn’t even put a fork or napkins in the bag. The icing was melted completely off the carrot cake which was so nasty and the cow feet taste like it was two days old so disgusting as a Jamaican I never ate such a disgusting dish in my life !!! So turned off I will never eat here again first time and it’s my last!! I just can’t believe they served me this today still in shock!
