The Solanova Ceaser is amazing. It’s the best ceaser salad I have ever eaten. It comes with a generous amount of dressing, sardines, a jammy egg, and a large crouton stuff with mascapone. The drinks here are excellent also. Also inspired from different eras.

Overall, it was a great experience from start to finish. The drinks were tasty, fun, and well made without feeling overdone. Considering this is San Diego, the prices were reasonable and not overwhelming. The bartenders were chill and not pushy at all, which made the atmosphere feel comfortable and relaxed. It was easy to hang out, enjoy the view, and take your time. We’ll definitely be coming back.

My friend and I ordered “Wagyu and Caviar Skewers” $41 that came with gold, and honestly, the meat was absolutely delicious.
My martini was just okay.

However, I wasn’t impressed with the service. When I arrived no one greeted me. I stood there looking around, but no one seemed to notice or offer help. I approached the bar and told a staff member I had a reservation and wanted to be seated. He directed me somewhere outside the bar, and when I asked why—since I had a reservation inside—he apologized and said he thought I was asking for the restroom.
It wasn’t a huge deal, but the staff at the bar looked noticeably stressed. Come on, people go there to relax—give the staff the support they need so they can be happier at work. Overall, the atmosphere felt a bit off, maybe a 3 out of 5.

Why can’t every hotel lobby bar be this cool? I used to live in San Diego and am pretty sure I’ve been to this bar before, but I was able to return the day after Thanksgiving when I stayed at the Pendry. I had a food & beverage credit so was lucky enough to have some amazing cocktails in a cool space 2 nights in a row. 5 stars, no notes!

Great place with really good cocktails. Each drink was created by someone who works there, so it’s fun to order a drink from the person who created it ave task to them about it. Fancy place with good appetizers. Clean and the staff is really friendly.

Great bar in San Diego! The bartender made amazing cocktails, and the staff surprised my friend with a dessert and champagne for her birthday. Really nice touch – highly recommend!

I decided to stop in here because of the featured photo on Google. The picture was of the Mad Hatter cocktail, which is an egg white cocktail with an Earl Grey infused vodka (if my memory serves me correctly). Well sadly it was not available, BUT that’s actually good news it means this place has a dynamic cocktail menu!

The team every season comes up with new cocktails which gets funnelled into the menu. You can see below the drink name the bartender that designed the cocktail. To me this is a key indicator of a good establishment.

The bartenders here are fantastic. Josh and Brennon were originally my bartenders. They are able to basically make you anything, one of the few places that knew what a clover club was without me having to explain. They have a fantastic cocktail list, but sadly I was craving an egg white so I had to go off script.

The atmosphere at fifth and rose is elegant yet modern. A very comfortable clean establishment that provides class. If you’re into a craft cocktail Fifth & Rose is the place, in the Gaslamp District, you should stop into!

The Fifth and Rose is always a delight – and not what you would expect in this area of town, with all the typical beer and restos catering to the baseball crowd (I mean no offence, not what one would expect). Been coming to SD for visits, and something is refreshing hanging out here on a sunny day in the spring. The cocktails are simple and fit the mood and atmosphere of the interior and the freshness of the outdoor/indoor connection. The drink with Shiso could have been punchier (with more Shiso infusion). Recommend dropping in any time of day, but mainly early afternoon, for refreshment when it’s not too busy – or late at night when the ambiance really shines.

Didn’t like the taste of their cocktails that much but they looked good. The Scotch were much better.

Place was intimate with a lively atmosphere. If room is tight there’s seating in Pendry, which is where the restrooms are.

If coming from the harbor, this would be a nice place to kick it off before heading farther down Fifth. And again on the way back.
