This is a wonderful family owned restaurant serving the best sushi in the area. The owner and staff are very nice and have awesome customer service. We have gotten takeout mostly and our order has always been ready exactly when they said. The sushi and sashimi have great flavor and are beautifully presented. Our favorites are Adam Bomb, Cherry Blossom, Dancing Heather, Fire Crunch, Mad Roll, Mango Paradise, MK Special, Orange Blossom, and the Burn. I always like to get a side of spicy tuna and it’s got just the right amount of kick. The sushi and sashimi has consistently been fresh, had great flavor and beautifully presented. We have taken friends and family there and everyone has loved it.

Catered from here and the sushi platter, teriyaki chicken, gyoza, and edamame were fantastic! The fish was fresh and yummy and the owners were so nice that they even threw in things for us! Would 1000% come back here and recommend it highly!! Everyone loved it!

Everything about Sushi Jae is very impressive. The fish is always incredibly fresh, the rolls are thoughtfully made, and each dish is full of clean, vibrant flavor. The staff are friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, making the meal even better. With great food, fair prices, and a welcoming atmosphere, this place is an easy five stars

This was my first time to San Jose in search of amazing sushi and luckily my nephew found it! This was fantastic, every single role we had was delicious and fresh and extremely satisfying. I can’t wait to come back to visit him again so I can go immediately to Sushi Jae!!
Highly recommend!!

Staff is polite but foods plain bad. Worst dining experience I’ve had in recent memory
Rolls consist of an immense amount of fake crab, a tiny piece of raw fish, and doused with sticky sauces. Also keep in mind most menu items are +$5 compared to images on Google reviews

Why did I come here? Bad reviews. Yes, really. Call me strange but I was intrigued by reports of rudeness. I wanted to see what was happening. So, I ate here alone once. Then a 2nd time, then a 3rd time. And a few days ago, a fourth time, with a friend. EVERY TIME…. everyone here was so nice. Each person there was sweet, friendly, courteous and helpful. So… keep in mind, sometimes people can be jerks to restaurant workers, and when they are, and they encounter a worker who’s had enough and isn’t standing for it, unfortunately the restaurant is the one who endures a negative, and possibly unfair, review.
My friend by the way says all sushi tastes pretty much the same to her. Ok. Fair enough. And even SHE noted with grateful surprise that this sushi at Sushi Jae stood out as surprisingly good. I agree. The rice and fish were the right temp (not refrigerator cold) and tender, fresh and beautiful. Oh man.
I like the low sodium soy sauce option (which to me just tastes so much better) and the ice cold Asahi beer.
So why 3 stars for Atmosphere? Not a criticism. It’s just a very basic environment. I don’t need flowers and fish tanks. I like the low, ambient lighting. I got the Sushi Combo (I think?). It was like 29 bucks. Salad and soup included.
Would I change anything ? Yeah. I’d do away with the masks. One pretty girl wasn’t wearing one, thank G-d. And I think the entrance to the store could be brighter and more stylish. I honestly think it’s an easy place to drive past. Either way, I so look forward to going back.

Restaurant small and dark from the outside, located in a plain strip mall. Inside ok, but a little dark. Prompt service. Miso soup ok, but not much tofu. Salad fine and good sized serving. The 2 hand rolls were surprisingly small. Chirashi: the sashimi was fresh, but I was disappointed because not much quantity for $24: 3 thin slices of 5 types of sashimi, and not much rice. The seafood ramen is more Korean-style than Japanese-style; the seafood was fine but unfortunately the noodles tasted like instant ramen rather than fresh ramen. Diet Coke was in a can, so no free refills. The staff seemed nice, but unfortunately I will not return because I know of many other sushi places I like better.

Seriously my favorite sushi restaurant. The food is so delicious and the staff is super friendly. They always remember my daughter and I. They even remember what she likes to order. The sushi chef always greets us and thanks us as we leave. Very clean and comfortable atmosphere.

Real Wasabi (for an extra $2 but worth it)! Super friendly staff (you’ll be called sir or mam), beautifully crafted sashimi, tasty yakitori, udon, kid friendly spot. Highly recommended if you’re in the area.
