Friendly staff and a great menu!
I’ll be back! Get the app and you get a ree sub after your first order- whaaaaat!!
My family and I walked into this location. After a few awkward moments of standing in front of the cashwrap we were “greeted” by a younger looking dude behind the counter as he was making sandwiches. I said “greeted” because there was this undertone of ire in his voice as though he was annoyed we were there.
We proceeded to order. I ordered a limited time sandwich for my son (firecracker wrap I think) while my wife and other boy split a turkey sandwich. I got the #9 as I have for years. An older gentlemen was now working the POS system. He was very friendly. I asked if I could have some of the garlic aoili added to my sandwich. Immediately the younger guy making the sandwiches just said (with the same bothered tone) “no, can’t do that. It only goes on the limited time offer.” Yikes, really? Like I already bought the limited time offer. And really, we’re doing to be stingy with flavored mayo? And it wasn’t just that. He didn’t say “oh sorry sir, can’t do that, but is there another sauce you’d like” or anything. He almost seemed to enjoy shutting my request down. I said “can’t you just upcharge me for it?” and again the younger guy said “nope”. I looked shocked at the guy taking my order, who also kind of had a surprised look. The man behind the POS machine said “oh yeah he’s management, so what he says goes”. I looked at my wife and she was equally befuddled.
We waited a bit for our food. When it was ready the “manager” tossed them on the counter and didn’t even say our order was ready. Then he seemed to realize he’d forgotten our pickles, so he was like “oh yeah pickles” and proceeded to wrap some up. I said “hey man, question. If I had ordered a side of extra Italian with my #9, would you have been able to give me a side of dressing?” He seemed absolutely mystified by this question. He asked me to clarify, which I did. He answered affirmatively. I then said “okay, well my son got the firecracker with the aoili, couldn’t you have given me a side of that since he ordered the limited time offering?” again, confusion on his end. Then he fumbled around and tried to explain to me that it’s a limited time offer that’s almost over, but there’s an aoili shortage? And that since it’s ending soon they need all the aoili they can get? I don’t know. But it just seemed really weird to shun a customer over a tablespoon of sauce… I mean heck those sandwiches are like $11 dollars now, you know?
So if that was it, okay whatever, kind of a weird interaction. The #9 seemed pretty decent. Until around 10:30pm when I started to feel a strange nausea and discomfort. Let me spoil the ending here: I got TERRIBLE FOOD POISONING. Based on the timeline it was only attributable to Jimmy John’s. Fortunately my son didn’t take a bite of my sandwich when I offered it. Perhaps if “management” was practicing proper food safety rather than trying to be the Lord of the Sauces I wouldn’t have spent from 11pm to 4am alternating between puke/diahrrea.
I will NEVER return to this location. Who knows how many other people were poisoned!
