Easily one of my absolute favorites.
From the moment you walk in, the vibe is just right. Even when it’s packed on a weekend, it still feels smooth and easy to get a table. The place nails that modern, cozy, stylish feel without trying too hard. Service is always on point: friendly, fast, and professional. Everything that hits the table looks incredible and tastes even better.
The sushi and sashimi are next level—fresh, clean, and perfectly done. My son and I both went for the Sushi & Sashimi Combo. Hungry guy tip: one is plenty to share next time, just throw in a couple of extra maki rolls or a specialty sushi and you’re set. My wife had the Mongolian Beef and loved it. Tender, flavorful, and perfectly sauced.
We started with the Coconut Curry Soup (shrimp for me, chicken for her) and both were out of this world. Rich, creamy, and full of flavor. And coming from someone who eats Creole food weekly, that’s saying something. The Tempura and Spicy Tuna Salad appetizers were just as good, light, crispy, and full of flavor.
Whether it’s a family dinner, date night, or a quick sushi fix after a long day, Wild Ginger always hits the spot. I’ve been here with family, friends, clients, and even for a quick solo lunch between showings. It’s consistently great every single time.

I came here from Chicago after a good bicycle ride so I could be hungry enough.
The sushi was perfect, great taste, perfect mix, awesome presentation. 10/10
The mixed vegetables with beef and fried rice were fine but not perfect. They lacked that powerful flavor Asian food provide. I had to add salt, soy sauce and chili oil to improve it.
Is definitely come back here for the sushi

I’ve been to many thai restaurants and this is probably one of the worst. I ordered the Chicken Cashew nut lunch special, it looks like she took a handful of cashews and threw it on the top, with Thai plate they are usually nicely presentable, the rice was taken from the bottom of the pot or it could’ve been the last but as you can see on the picture it was just thrown there also.

I am very excited to write about this spot since I had ordered from them on Uber Eats for so long. This was my first time stopping in to the restaurant in downtown Hinsdale while I was doing some shopping down the block. It was not very busy when I went in since it was a late afternoon lunch (about 2:30pm). I started with the shumai which came out steaming, and they were delicious. I highly recommend the mango salad that they offer. The mango salad is my go to for a refreshing bite with the mango and the bell peppers that are incorporated into the salad. The staff is friendly, the restaurant when I went was on the quieter side but that is no issue as I tend to dine solo with airpods in. I would dine in again for an evening out, or a to-go order.

Overall I give it a 4 but I’m giving the food a 3. I’ve been here five or six other times, but this time was not the best experience. I had basil fried rice with shrimp. The shrimp were delicious, but the rice wasn’t fried at least not to my liking and I could barely taste the basil. As a matter fact, it didn’t even taste like Thai food. My husband had the shrimp Kung Po. Again, I think the rice was a miss. No flavor, no taste the authentic Thai flavors were not there.

I was really disappointed with Wild Ginger. The food looked nothing like the photos online, which was misleading. The taste didn’t feel like restaurant quality food it honestly felt more like something made at home. The food also didn’t seem fresh, and after eating I had stomach pain, which made the experience even worse. Overall, it wasn’t worth the price and I don’t think I’d come back.

I ordered Pad Thai and Chicken Satay. The chicken was okay which is why I give one star but the rest was not good especially for the price. The peanut sauce literally tasted like peanut butter and I only had two bites of the Pad Thai. Pad Thai tasted and smelled like fish. I’ve never had a Pad Thai this bad. Disappointed.

Awesome food at a place with great ambiance. The service was very attentive. Pictured here is a spicy tuna roll, a plate of pineapple fried rice, salmon hibachi, and tofu hibachi. All very tasty!
Definitely a place to try when in Hinsdale.

Only get takeout but very great atmosphere. The staff is quick and very nice. The mango salad and mango salmon wrap sushi are underrated- so good! Everything is super fresh, the noodle dishes are standard- maybe a bit on the pricey side but I appreciate their consistency so I don’t mind!

One of our favorite places for fresh sushi in the suburbs. Love the garden salad with the ginger dressing. For dinner we had Rainbow roll, Dragon roll, Godzilla roll, Out of Control roll and American Dream roll. The host is always welcoming.
