The first time to visit “El Nopalito”, local Mexican cuisine in The first time to visit “El Nopalito”, local Mexican cuisine in Englewood. We ordered tacos, Nacho, and a soup I picked from pictures. Food took a while to come out (25~30 minutes). I guess because of lots of delivery/pickup orders which also means that the restaurant is good. Finally, we go the food and the Food was so good. Especially, the soup I ordered from the pictures, I loved it and found that the name was “Mole de Olla”. Nacho was good too I wish I had a glass of beer :). I am already planning for next time to try more menus. Reason for 4 stars is Food came out late.

We recently dined at a charming locally-owned Mexican restaurant that truly captures authentic Mexican flavors. From the moment we arrived, the cozy atmosphere and live music set a welcoming tone, and the performer’s beautiful voice added to the experience.
We started with the jalapeños rellenos, a delightful fried jalapeño appetizer, which was stuffed with ham and cheese served with a deliciously smoked creamy dipping sauce. We spilt the shrimp for dinner, which was served with rice, beans and flour tortillas. This brought a serious punch of spice! If you love bold flavors, you’ll appreciate the sauces here, but be warned—they are fiery, so use them sparingly. The fresh juices were a nice touch, and we especially loved the homemade tamarind juice, which was perfect for cooling down the heat from our meal.
While the chips weren’t as fresh as we would have liked, the flavorful salsa made up for it. Service was a bit slower than expected, but our server was sweet and polite, making us feel welcomed despite the wait.
This spot stands out for offering truly authentic Mexican cuisine—different from what you might expect at your average Mexican restaurant, which makes it worth the experience. If you’re craving an authentic experience and love supporting local businesses, I’d recommend giving this place a try!

The atmosphere is okay however taste was poor and tocas do not taste anything special or no flavor. The server was friendly but was not in best day I think. Could not communicate properly even though tried in Spanish as well

The food was good; I liked the amount of spice in the enchiladas. The chips and salsa were bland tho. The atmosphere wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great either. The girl who took care of me was awesome and the people in the kitchen did a great job but the atmosphere just seemed off. It wouldn’t keep me from going again but I’ll likely explore other options first.

Very good and authentic Mexican food.
Not the Americanized stuff sold at mainstream “Mexican” joints.

The food was delicious when this was “Maravillas de Tulcingo”. Once they switched to “El Nopalito” about a year or so ago, the food quality and taste increasingly diminished. I assume they have new owners now. If you scroll down you will see 4/5 star reviews from when it was Maravillas de Tulcingo. Those reviews are not for this current restaurant. I do not recommend at all.
