10/29/24: It was only ok. This & another location had clumpy rice & clumpy cheese ! It showed that the workers were not trained well or fully monitored. The food tasted good, but the tofu was unseasoned, so it was gross . The men’s room was clean! The restaurant was clean! The salsa station was spotless. It’s just that the food was not at Chipotle level of consistency of goodness, re: clumpy rice, clumpy grated cheese, & unseasoned tofu. The workers were nice.

Came with a large group of people and the employees working got lazy serving us. Starting giving half scoop portions of food and didn’t serve certain menu items like the “stack” because it takes longer to make. I like Moes but would not go to this location ever again.

I spent $50 on my order and was extremely disappointed. The food was not prepared as requested, the service was unfriendly, and the restaurant itself was unclean. Upon arrival, the entry door handles were soiled, there was a soda spill that had not been cleaned up and no wet floor sign was posted. The restroom smelled strongly of marijuana and there was no toilet paper available in the ladies’ room.

This is my third poor experience with this chain at different locations, but the New York location was the worst. With rising food prices, I expect quality food, a clean environment, and courteous service I expect a lot of food chains to close up because this is a problem at many chains. Unfortunately, this visit was my last straw. (Check #1005, 9/27/2025)

My family of 4 was there today we spent $50 for 2 junior burritos, 2 tacos and a burrito bowl and drinks. The portions of meat were pathetic. We walked out hungier than when we entered. No value there. The staff was nice.

Tremendous! This is our favorite Moe’s location for a variety of reasons: 1. Always clean! 2. Never mess up our orders 3. Food is always displayed tidily and presentable (for example, many other locations have food spilling from the sides or have clearly been sitting in their containers for hours). We came today and got our free Moe’s T-shirt with our purchases! It says “queso is a mood and a vibe!” We love the Rochester City Skyline… how special! And the food was perfect as per usual. Best visit ever!

I updated this review in 2023 for a visit in 2021. I read they changed management, so this review may no longer apply.

2021 review:
It’s been a long time since I’ve been legitimately shocked due to a restaurant’s food and service. When first walking in, I made a comment to my fiance about the Art Vandelay poster. He was standing behind a girl cleaning tables, who thought I was speaking to her and ripped out an ear bud and said, “Huh?” And then just stared at me. There was no “I’m sorry, what did you say?” or, “Excuse me?” or even the slightest hint that she was aware of basic manners when addressing strangers. Mentioning Seinfeld invited more uncomfortable blank staring at me, so I motioned awkwardly and said “I was talking to my fiance.” She said “oh” and put her earbud back in and kept cleaning tables. Awkward, but no big deal, until you add up the rest of the experience.

We had never been to Moe’s before and while the girl who made my order was sweet and helpful, the food looked positively atrocious. The rice was dry and hard and the meat had that shiny dry look to it when it’s been sitting in a warmer all day. We came after whenever a dinner rush would be so I was confused to see the food looking so… old and gross looking. You’d think that the food would be fresh due to rotation of the food inventory during a dinner rush. It looked like the same food had just been sitting there for possibly days. The sour cream squeeze bottle was empty, so she just kind of spattered tiny flecks of sour cream spray on my food and kept going. Uh… Ok. Then, when the next item also had sour cream, she put the old spout on a NEW bottle of sour cream right in front of me! I mean, you’re breaking food safety rule #2, right after FIFO. As we paid, the cashier *stopped ringing us up* to check a Facebook notification. Then, we went to get some salsa and I noticed some bubbles in the salsa, but I thought maybe it was just because I had stirred it. But, it looked… weird. And there were a lot of bubbles. Having never been there, I got some anyway. Maybe that’s just what it looked like, I thought.

I attached a picture of what it looked like after I got it home. It was so filled with gas that it would not sit flat on the counter, and you can see all of the fermentation bubbles on the side of the salsa cup. They are serving literally rotting salsa. I tasted it to be sure. It is, indeed, rotting.

The steak tasted and smelled like an old dish rag. My bowl was inedible, with crunchy dry rice, dry chicken, and super weird tasting bell peppers that I had to remove in order to choke down the rest of the mess. My fiance and I both agreed that we’d rather have Taco Bell. I am actually concerned that some of the other things that were in our bowls might have been rotting because everything looked really old and like the integrity of the structure of the vegetables was suffering.

Never again… Oh my god, this was literally the gnarliest restaurant and the grossest food I’ve ever eaten. You literally could not pay me money to ever go to Moe’s ever again.

Understaffed location, waited 25 minutes in line behind three people, one employee working and one wandering around pretending to clean tables. Food appeared old and line was not clean, did not order food after seeing it.

We arrived to get food. We discovered that the fixings were mostly absent from the selection. Almost no lettuce left, no onions. No guacamole, half of the meats that were normally there. We were so hungry we decided to stay,. My son got a bowl and there was barely any lettuce in it. The rice in all of our meals was old and hard. All but one of the salsa was available. That salsa tasted rotten and we threw it all away. We are so disgusted and upset we just left. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Find another Moe‘s.

Not sure if Moe’s is going downhill or if it’s just this location. Ordered a steak bowl. Food quality very poor, clumpy rice, most steak was full of gristle, clearly trying to lower cost using lower quality meat. Black beans burned, tasted like ashtray. Too bad, Moe’s used to have better quality. Service was fine and restaurant was clean.
