Only giving 3 stars because the food was very good but. I attended a Republican gathering honoring Law Enforcement before they officially opened. We sat on the outside patio. Not sure if this is a dining area as you have to walk through the disgusting smoky bar which permeates the indoor dining. I walked in there after they opened and walked out. I called and asked about the smoke, and it sounded kind of like, deal with it. No answer, or she could have mentioned the outside dining is part of the restaurant. I would love to dine there but either make the bar non smoking, or build a wall. Having owned a restaurant before, I would have never signed a lease there. Good luck.

We were excited to try Rosie’s as it was recommended to us. Upon arrival, the smell of smoke greeted us but we decided to give it a chance. The restaurant was dim and did not Provide much lighting and it shares a building with a bar containing plenty of smokers at the time we went. We sat farthest from the bar To escape the best we could. We ordered chips and queso. The chips were very hard but not terrible. We requested fresh jalapeños but were given pickled and the queso was warm, not hot. I ordered one shredded chicken taco and a barbacao taco but the chicken was not ready so I changed my order to 2 barbacao tacos. The tacos were very delicious which is the only reason for the 3 stars.

We have been meaning to try this place after hearing some good things, but last time we went they had a large party resulting in a long wait time. Today there was no wait, so we decided to give them a try. I brought my Hispanic friend who grew up in San Diego, he is always a good reference for Mexican food. When we got there we were told to sit wherever we liked. We ordered Jamaicas for our drinks since the Limon y Pepino was not available (both highly recommended). The chips, salsa, and queso came out and the salsa was roasted with great flavor and the perfect consistency. The queso was creamy with good flavor and not too salty. The chips may have been from a bag, would love to see them made in house in the future, but not a big deal. We did wait a little while for our food, but once it came out we were both really impressed. My friend said the dipping tacos (birria) that he got were the best he had ever had, high marks coming from this California native. I got an assortment of the tacos and I have to say the lengua was definitely the star. The others were all good, but the lengua was by far the best. Another highlight of the meal were the salsas that came with my tacos. If you like salsa, make sure to ask them which they have available and give them a try. At the end of the meal we got the checks and were surprised to see that our checks were both less than $20 which we felt was a great deal for what we had received. Definitely give this place a try.
TLDR: This appears to be the same people who ran Casa Romero with a slightly different menu, but the same amazingly delicious food. Glad to have them closer to home.

The dipping tacos with charro bean soup was absolutely top notch!!

Been a loyal customer for years now. Back when they were under a different name in Pascagoula. They are hands down the best, Most Authentic, Mexican Food on the gulf coast. The dipping tacos and picaditas are absolutely phenomenal. The enchiladas are a work of art.

Ok Ocean Springs Peeps, we just ate at Rosie’s Cantina on Porter Ave – AMAZING! Not your average mexican – it’s the best since eating in Carmel CA! So fresh and so different! Plkease give thrm a shot and you can eat outside on the deck – lovely!
