Aperitivo is a locally owned bar/cafe with a well edited selection of wine, beer and spirits, focusing on the Italian aperitivi, amari, vermouth and cordials. Good music, good food, friendly service. We have a beautiful outdoor patio with views of downtown and the river. We serve lunch and dinner Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. and our happy hour is Tuesday through Friday from 4-6 p.m. with a menu of food, wine and cocktails for just $6/each! Great food, drink, service and history. Didn’t know what to expect from what I saw online. Seemed like An italian restaurant but also very much like a bar. Turns out it’s both great cocktails and Italian. I got the fungi pizza and my friend got the greek flat bread. Both very good, though I do prefer thinner on the crust. I got a manhattan neat and it was great. They have a big variety of bitters and amaro and other types of apparitives that probably helped. Then got a sazarac which was great. Really enjoyed the ambience the detail in everything. Seemed they really wanted to bring some of the history back of the building and the area. Prices were very reasonable and wide variety menu. We’ll be back.

If you’re looking for the best espresso martini in Milwaukee, this is the spot. Perfectly balanced, smooth, and just the right kick. It sets the tone for a whole night out in MKE. I also tried the hummus plate and the spicy sausage rigatoni, and both were absolutely delectable. The rigatoni’s cream sauce in particular was rich and flavorful without being too heavy. EASILY one of the best pasta dishes I’ve had in the city.

I ordered to go so I can only speak to the food I took and the friendliness of the bartender. She was very nice. The restaurant looks super fun and dark and hip nice interior.
The food I’m very happy with. I got a chicken Caesar sandwich which was bigger than I anticipated. and the Cuban.
I’ll return for full meal someday.

Today I visited this spot with my friends and must say, it is truly a beautiful place. I’m sure it has a rich history, which unfortunately I don’t know. The bar is excellent, and the atmosphere is very charming.
However, there were a few things that disappointed me. Unfortunately, the pizza was not tasty at all. The crust was thick and dry, and it even gave me heartburn, which I normally don’t experience. So, I would recommend being careful when choosing from the menu. We ordered a pizza with garlic, caramelized onions, and mushrooms, I don’t recall the name.
The thing that disappointed us the most, though, was what seemed to be large clumps of dust on the curtains. I think it would be great if you could address this issue, as it detracts from the otherwise wonderful experience at your place.
The service was impeccable and cocktails was great.

First time here, and had an overall great experience. Katia is a gem! She provided grade service and gave some really good suggestions for drinks and food. I have a couple food allergies, and she was very attentive to ensure my needs were met. Will definitely be coming back.

Honestly amazing experience both times I ate here. Came here during a week long trip to Wisconsin and I loved the chicken Caesar foccocia sandwich so much I had to come back before I left. Waitress was really kind and efficient, even went the extra mile to check the back for what Caesar dressing they use when I asked. If I am ever in the area again I will definitely be back.

The food was delicious. I ordered a special vodka sauce gnocchi. It’s was incredible, garlicky, well seasoned, cooked to protection. The Tiramisu was amazing as well, although not on the menu given, upon request.
