I was really in the mood for a hotdog and went to this place on a whim and was not disappointed. I ordered a couple things just to try what they had on their menu, including the plain dog with bacon, the space dog buffalo basket, which was waffle fries, covered in buffalo chicken bites and drizzled in there, housemade sauce, and a burger.
Everything I had was really delicious and the stand out for me was definitely the buffalo basket. It was a yummy tasty snack.
They had all kinds of different hotdogs with all sorts of fun things that could go on top of it but this simple one hit the spot for me with just their house sauces on top.
There’s a small little countertop where you could sit or wait on your order being made, but this is definitely a grabbing ghost spot as there’s really nowhere to eat around there since you’re right off the street and sandwich between the parking lot.

Best dogs ever. They’re truly out of this world. The hotdogs are very tasty and the variety was extraordinarily different. It’s worth every penny. Very kind and patient service. Definitely coming back to try everything. My favorite thing was the watermelon drink.

The parking would not be okay if it were packed! The hot cheeto burger was so flavorful but I had ordered hot cheeto cheese sticks and the hot cheeto chicken basket didnt get it everything was still good but was looking forward to what I had ordered. The blue drink tasted like the Tropicana brand lol and the shake was actually good the cinnamon crunch had cereal on the bottom loved it I will go back just hope I get what I order.

This place was awesome! I’ve been reviewing the places I eat at for many years. Rarely have I ever given 5 stars because to me that means perfect, but we can all fall short a little. Typically I give 4 stars when I really like the place and will return….. But in my opinion Space Dog Station needed a 5 star from me. It was great and I will definitely be back.
I don’t live in Brownsville but I was downtown and was looking on maps to find something different. Found it, Space Dog Station!
They have a great variety of hotdogs and they have burgers and other menu items as well. I wanted something different so that’s what I got… The pizza dog! Never had I seen that before so I got it. Hotdog with marinara sauce, mozzarella, and pepperoni. .
Everything about that hotdog was great. The hotdog itself was not a wimpy Oscar Mayer wiener. I’m not sure if it was beef, pork, both, but it was tasty and hardy in size. The bun was nicely toasted and not a straight out of the bag bun like other hotdog places I’ve been.
They had chips, seasoned fries and tater tots. I got the tots and they were cooked perfectly and a nice size serving.
The young lady working there was very nice and friendly.
I’m a gringo living in the valley but I don’t know much Spanish so sometimes it can be challenging to order food at smaller local places. I don’t mind at all because I’m used to it. I was expecting it to be this way ordering my food, because it’s only a block from the border. The young lady spoke great English which is nice because I get embarrassed trying to order food with my gringo broken Spanish lol.
I get to Brownsville at least once a month and will definitely be there again to try another unique hot dog.

Not what I expected for a hotdog stand. The menu offers a variety of hot dogs, each loaded with unique and flavorful toppings. The space-themed atmosphere adds a fun and quirky touch to the dining experience. The service is friendly yet a little slow which is why the service gets three stars. The overall experience is very enjoyable. Highly recommended!

Service was great the girl who assisted us could tell we were first timers. She was very social and patient with us which helped our first time be more enjoyable. I ordered the Tijuana which was loaded with toppings and prepared well. Bun was toasted a little which I loved. The flavor of bacon complimented the onion and bell pepper ratio. Little drizzle of mayo and ketchup to not drown the toppings. My wife had the pizza dog and she was nice enough to let me get a bite. It was very rich in flavor with the bacon and pepperoni. My only knock on this dog was the sauce softened the bread and got soggy by the time we got home. So that’s one of the dogs probably best to eat on site. As a side we got seasoned fries, which were pretty good. We also ordered the chili cheese tots for my daughter. She really enjoyed them. Definitely looking forward to tasting everything on the menu.

We came back, and this time, we tried the cheese burgers and wow so fresh that im hooked. i dont want your common burger joints and everything cold vs. Here nice hot, juicy handmade cheese burgers. Food is awesome. Was so happy with my irder and the staff is super nice and thanks to my cook burgers were delish!.
The hot dogs are like, “Wow, a bit pricey, but omg, you won’t regret it because they are not even shysty with the serving. I was really satisfied with my combo very delicious and tasty way different from your everyday big branch dogs that they’ve become so bland. This hot dog stand is very creative, and i can’t wait to try most of them. Plus, they do have burgers, and if hot dogs are great, i can imagine hamburgers are awesome. Tho i do say abt parking is very inconvenient Ok this is a little Ho-jo it is really nice the only thing is the location isn’t very convenient for people who are driving out there. It’s more convenient for people who are already downtown walking vs. With a car to find parking is horrible you can’t park behind this stand because you will get sited, so that is a issue with that it’s like a snack bar and no parking space so you can’t really get down to order you literally have to have 2 people driver and passenger so they can order meanwhile cruise to pick them up again. I just feel they got short-changed with parking. Or should allow them to have parking privileges behind them for customers. The city should help them with that. So, heads up, guys, but the food is fantastic. And the owners are wonderful people.

Tried this out last night and omg. It hit the munchies spot real good. Cute little location and not hard to find in the downtown area of Brownsville. If you are a small group they have few chairs. Not much room for a larger party. Overall damn good food. Hotdogs and burgers are yum.

Great hotdogs of all kinds that are good sized! We ordered two combos and two singles of two kinds (chili cheese dog, with grilled onions and the Big Jay Ruiz dog). We got seasoned fries with both combos. They were tasty but not crunchy as I’d hoped. Realize we should’ve tried one combo with tater tots and shared.
Our only other constructive criticism is that the parking lot in which they are located isn’t theirs, so you can’t park there. Luckily, the space dog folks were sweet and told us to stay in the car while we waited and they’d bring us our food, to ensure we wouldn’t get towed.
They were also super sweet and threw in a free strawberry shake, some stickers and a cute plastic space themed wrist band for our kiddo. Highly recommend and plan on returning when in town.
