Not discouraging people from going here , but just a review of the website that describes the Cafe. They do not serve breakfasts in the sense of a meal like described online. We were unfortunately there to sit and eat a meal and didn’t get what we were there for. I’m sure the bakery is fine if that’s what you are looking for.

What a delightful surprise finding Elaine’s Bakery in Milo, Maine! We stumbled upon it while taking the scenic route to northern Maine (a bit off I-95, but completely worth it!). Their menu is extensive, and while they were out of a couple of things I asked for, I still walked away with some absolute gems.

The loaf of cinnamon bread was delicious, perfect for breakfast or a sweet snack. But the real showstopper? The red velvet cake balls! They were sitting on the counter, and since they were out of red velvet Whoopie pies, I snagged some. These cake balls, covered in white chocolate, might honestly be one of the best desserts I’ve ever tasted – incredibly moist and flavorful.

Despite being a bit out of the way, Elaine’s Bakery has officially become a must-stop on our future trips to northern Maine. You won’t be disappointed!

Delicious breakfast, especially the bread & French toast. Get a few Whoopie Pies to go, rated with the best in the whole state. Bismarcks are also top-notch.

I travel a lot & pastries are my weakness. I accidently got a plain donut. Not that I needed the sugar from the glaze but I ate it anyway. 10/10 best donut I’ve ever had.
The flavor & the crisp. She nailed it

Her special strawberry banana was perfection.
She is definitely in the right business! Thank you !

I bought a molasses doughnut from a local convenience store in Dover that came from Elaine’s, to have as a snack on my 2 hour drive home. I was a good half hour into the drive, before I tried it and seriously thought about driving back to give it back, after one bite. It was like taking a bite out of a sponge straight out of the package before getting it wet. While I was very disappointed, since it looked so good, I figured I’d give it a second chance when I got home and I’d warm it up before trying it again. Picture a sponge straight out of the package and then soaking it in warm oil before taking a bite out of it…that’s pretty much the experience I had with it. Looks can be very deceiving, buyer beware. I gave it 2 stars simply because I feel bad, but the doughnut deserves negative stars and my money back. Had it been even halfway edible I wouldn’t even bother writing this. Bob
