Came here for an early dinner on First Friday. We ordered the Mojo roasted pork and Ropa Vieja entrees. Both were outstanding, cooked to perfection. Portions were huge and the side of plantains was the perfect accompaniment. They sold out of the flan so we didn’t get to try it but we tried the steak and cheese empanada and it was incredible! Thank you Chris for that and for chatting about the restaurant’s beginnings. Grants Pass is lucky to have this gem of a restaurant!! We highly recommend it and hope to be back one day when traveling again to Oregon

Hands down, the best coffee in town. Not your mochalattechino stuff, but actual coffee. And they offer almond milk and oat milk for those of us that can’t handle real milk. My husband and I both had breakfast sandwiches, the Madrina and the chorizo& ham sandwich, and we were both completely stuffed. And we are big eaters, so that’s saying a lot! Absolutely try this place for an authentic Cuban experience. You won’t regret it.

Stopped here and had a feast for dinner. Service was excellent. Ropa Vieja was on point along with Rice, Black Beans, and Maduros. Husband had the Mojo Roasted Pork. Tostones are definitely worth it. The Flan though!!! Don’t miss out on the Flan! Freshly made Cuban Bread is served with meals. Was really craving a Bucci or some refer to it as a Cafecito. Unfortunately, they don’t pull single shots. Got a Cafe con Leche to seal the deal on my way out and it was delicious. Go there with an appetite if you haven’t had Cuban Cusine in a long time because you will want it all The last time I had good Cuban food was almost 15 years ago while bouncing around Key West. Very clean and organized! Price is reasonable. I will be back the next time I am in the area.

My first time!! What a gem !!,my daughters been bragging so had to try. OH MY GAWD ! Had the pork empanyada..(cant spell it) it was so good. Meat was sooo tender. Important. The sgell,pastry was so light and crisp. The stuffing was amazing tender and tasty! The gal working was ver helpful, with all.my questions ! Ya gotta go!

I believe Nelly’s restaurant is family owned and operated. We were greeted warmly as we walked in the door and I noticed The restaurant was very clean. We had coffee and a Cuban fruit turnover But they have a full menu The pastries were extremely good and the coffee was a little strong but also very good. Based on the restaurants in the area I would say they have median prices. Great place! Great food. Great employees! I will be back.

Growing up in Florida, nothing was better than going into local Cuban cafes and eating authentic, perfectly seasoned food and drinking a cafe con leche. The vibes of the staff are unmatched. It’s very rare for me to walk in and not have a smile on my face when I see someone working the front, because they know I’m coming back yet again for another cup of coffee and chicken sandwich. If you’ve never had great Cuban food, you should start and end here because they just do it right. If you walk in during the mornings, you can smell them baking more fresh Cuban bread and it’s sooo good. (Get the white or green sauce it makes every meal just even more next level). 10/10 recommend this place.

This place has potential. I had the Steak and Cheese Empanada, which was to put it plainly, quite awesome. I also had the Ropa Viejo. The plantains served with it were exceptional, but the meat dish, beans, and rice were not. The rice was completely unseasoned, and the beans were completely liquefied. The meat was very finely shredded, which is not to my liking. Even though I’m a big fan of beef dishes with peppers and onions, I found this to be quite bland and very under seasoned. I guess I expected it to be quite spicy and bold, and it definitely wasn’t and was just sort of ho-hum by my standards. I didn’t eat in, but the tables have metal chairs that are definitely not comfortable. Service was fast and pleasant. Prices are fair and competitive with other local eateries. I’d eat here again and gladly fill up on empanadas and plantains, which, again, really were quite awesome, but the entree was otherwise not to my liking. It may very well be that they are under-spicing the entrees to adjust for the average American palate, but I personally found it to be a bit of a letdown. Your mileage may vary. If I had just had the empanadas and plantains, I would have given a very solid five stars on the food. With that in mind, I’ll be back, even if I do skip the entrees. I can’t believe some people are actually one-starring them over a vehicle. Later addition: Came back for a second time. Had the pork and cheese empanadas and one of their espressos. Absolutely to die for. What’s more, two empanadas are really filling and it’s only 10 bucks!How can you go wrong? Review upgraded to 5 stars on food.
