Until this Thanksgiving, the hams that we have purchased were always incredible & were thoroughly enjoyed by us, as well as, our guests! Sadly, that was definitely not the case this Thanksgiving!
At a price of over $100 dollars, the ham that we purchased this year was extremely fatty! To be perfectly honest, it was more fat than meat and as a result, was a huge disappointment and an embarrassment to serve to our family members!
I recall a time when your customers were allowed to have one of your employees open the foil wrapping on the hams so as to allow them to view the quality of the hams prior to purchasing them. I have since been informed that is no longer allowed. I strongly advise that policy be reimplemented.
Sadly, our longtime tradition of serving Honeybaked Hams for the Holidays has come to an end.
I walked in hoping to browse, maybe vibe with the hams a little. Nope. The staff had the intensity of air-traffic controllers landing planes in a storm. The second I crossed the threshold, a voice popped up like:
“WHAT CAN I GET YOU?”
Ma’am, I haven’t even emotionally arrived yet.
Before I could blink, someone slapped a menu in my hand, another person asked my order, and a third was already printing a label for a ham I hadn’t agreed to. I swear I heard a stopwatch click somewhere.
My brain: I want to ask a question.
Their energy: Wrong. Decide.
So I panicked and ordered the first thing my eyes landed on. Could’ve been a ham, could’ve been a seasonal side, could’ve been a small decorative candle. I truly don’t know. But I was outside again in 27 seconds with a bag of something warm and judgment-free.
To be fair, the food was great. But the experience?
Imagine being shot out of a ham-flavored cannon.
Would I go back? Absolutely — but next time I’m stretching first, hydrating, and showing up with my order rehearsed like a Broadway monologue.
We’re feeding the Tuttle Fire Department a meal on 911 to show our appreciation for their service, so I had to run up and get a ham bone for beans. Yum!!
Seriously, their employees are top notch!!
