The food and the service was excellent. Sammy was very friendly and efficient, offering refills and anything else we could have wanted in a timely manner. The place was clean and bright, but was a bit chilly…it seemed like the AC was on and it’s 30° today I asked Sammy about as we were leaving (not complaining), but to know if the bar side of the restaurant was warmer. She assured me it is. We will definitely go back!

We visited this Mexican restaurant today with a group of 10—kids and adults—and had an amazing time! The food was outstanding and the service was even better.
We started with the Diablo shrimp, which was perfectly spicy and incredibly fresh—definitely a standout! The steak quesadilla was massive and packed with flavor; even our hungry teenager couldn’t finish it. The shrimp cocktail was another hit—super fresh, chilled, and so refreshing. Mexican corn is a must have!
But the star of the day was the Arroz con Pollo—everyone loved it! It was seasoned to perfection with just the right amount of melted cheese on top.
The drinks were a whole experience in themselves. Bartender Sammy made the best drinks we’ve had in a while—huge, delicious, and totally irresistible. Even the virgin drinks were crafted with care and tasted amazing.
Our server was attentive and friendly, constantly checking on us and making sure drinks were refilled without delay. Every single order came out exactly as requested—no small feat with a party of 10!
All in all, it was a wonderful evening full of great food, great vibes, and excellent service. Highly recommend this place—we’ll definitely be back!

Whether alone or with a group I always enjoy eating here. $2.50 Street Tacos during Taco Tuesday they have a delicious Ramen as well. I havent had anything yet that I wasn’t happy with.

We had such a great time at Cosmel On The River Bar & Grille! The place has an awesome vibe and the view by the river just makes everything better. The food was super good — definitely hit the spot.
Our waitress Savanna was amazing! She was super sweet, checked on us often, and made sure we had everything we needed. You can tell she really cares about her customers.
Highly recommend this place — we’ll for sure be coming back!

I loved this place. The service is usually great and the food as well. With that being said, I had a horrible experience on my birthday. My server, Kayla or Mikayla, who I’ve had before has always been great. Tonight, they had a live band that was country, and I didn’t want to be at a Mexican restaurant listening to country music. The band started playing RIGHT after I ordered and one of the speakers was in front of my booth.
My food came about 7 minutes after ordering, but my first drink came 6 songs (about 20 minutes) after I ordered. I said “I’m really not enjoying the music and I’d like to just leave.” I didn’t touch the one drink (she had in her hand, I never saw the other drink) brought out and asked for them to be taken off of my bill. She said they can’t do that. I’m a server myself and will always advocate to management to make sure my guests have the best experience possible, and she immediately said no when I asked to have them taken off. I didn’t want to argue or talk about it at all, I was so dissatisfied so I tipped 15%($4.30) and left. I usually tip $20+ no matter my server, experience, or my bill, but going forward, I won’t be tipping her if she is my server. 0/10 tonight so I think I’m going to explore other Mexican restaurants in the area!!!

Pretty good food the service was good nice place. My first time trying street tacos. Not too bad. To me the food is more Mexican than most places. Maybe it’s just me. Who I’m i to say what’s more Mexican. I have never been to Mexico. This is some really good food. I highly would recommend. They have somethings that i hadn’t seen at other Mexican restaurants around here anyway. They stays pretty busy. So I’m not the only one that likes it. They most be doing something right.

The food was good but I’m not sure I’ve ever had a 5 star Mexican food experience. So this is as good as any and better than a lot. Great location on the river with live entertainment. Food service was almost to attentive, kinda felt like she wanted us to leave so she could turn the table. So we paid our bill and went inside to the bar which has a mechanical donkey you can try and ride. The bartender was the best part of the evening…..she was friendly with creative drinks and kept everyone’s needs met. Fun place, we’ll be back. A couple of the youngsters of our party gave the donkey a shot.

Favorite Mexican restaurant in Charleston. I love Coz Express downtown and we used to frequent the Ripley restaurant. This location is great. They have plenty of space for groups of every size and events. The outside seating area is a great place to be when the weather is nice. Never had a bad meal here and the portions are always huge

My son and I traveled to the area, from Ga to visit my Aunt and after reading other reviews online, decided this would be the place! It did NOT disappoint…I had the Boom Boom Shrimp Tacos…they were amazing. I also had a skinny margarita…FYI, LARGE is a real LARGE. In GA, a large is more like a medium! My son had La Casa Burritos, steak & chicken and he said they were delicious. Service was great. No complaints here and will definitely be back when we return to the area!!

Food rounded up from 3.5 stars. I had the pasta latina and after the first bite, I told my wife, “never order pasta at a Mexican restaurant”. The pesto was flavorless and the cheese was just cold, shredded cheese on top of the dish. It was marginally better once I mixed it all together and added some salt and hot sauce and the chicken in the dish had good flavor. My wife had shrimp fajitas which were ok.
Service rounded down from 3.5 stars. Service was adequate but the staff all seemed just uninterested or maybe distracted. I guess I can understand that since it was a very nice day. No one wants to be stuck at work on a sunny Saturday afternoon.
Especially when your workplace is so dark. I rate the atmosphere so low because it’s so dark (I had to use the flashlight on my phone to read the menu) and loud (music was so loud we couldn’t hold a conversation. That might make sense when they shift into nightclub mode at night but not so much on a Saturday afternoon). Once the outdoor seating opens, we’ll try again and see if that improves the experience.
