Its Cataclysm
Ordered nachos and 2 tacos with chips and guacamole with 2 pricklpear drinks. What we got was an hour in line a litteral lap around the building, lies and some rude employees, all we did was place an online pickup.
When we arrived at about 7:05 pm we were told we were early and we were. The order said it would be ready at 7:10 that’s fine we knew we were early so we would wait. We were the only people in the pickup line. We waited until about 7:20 before anyone else came to the window and said we will start your order now, we then asked if we should pull around since a car had pulled up behind us while we were in line. We pulled around and were now 2 cars behind. We then waited for the first car to get their food. It took over 30 minutes. They then took their time im assuming looking over the order because of the time it took and what was wrong with our order.
They finally pulled away and the next car was handed their food immediately and left. Now our turn again. We pull up tell them the name on the order and they go get it another 5 minutesof waiting. We ordered the nachos with mixed beans, no rice, double shredded beef, grilled veg, shredded cheese, salsa fresca, guacamole, sour cream, green onion, and house dressing. Also 2 tacos with no rice, pinto beans, shredded beef, Pico on the side and sour cream. With a large chips and guacamole and 2 large prickly pear drinks. Not only did they say they were out of the prickly pear so we got sodas i looked over the food and saw we were given queso instead of the guacamole. We brought it up and they said they were out even though it was on my nachos clear as day. We accepted it and were tired after a long day and didn’t feel like arguing and went home. It is now 7:56.
Less than 5 minutes away we get home. Upon opening the food my chips were soggy and stail, no salsa, no grilled veggies, no dressing, no green onions, no cotija cheese, and instead of the double shredded beef there is some steak sprinkled on. The tacos had the smallest amount of meat with no lettuce, no pico, no sour cream, and the beans were like soup. Now the food tastes good but like what is going on. You dont have the drinks, lied about the guacamole, just left more than half the toppings off and didn’t even put in the utensils. This is unacceptable. Im Ok with running out of things I understand that, but the short responses from the staff and just ignoring the order and lying about other things, the almost hour long wait to get incorrect, cold, soggy food is ridiculous.

It’s a hit or miss always. Never consistent. This time my side of steak swam in old oil. Terrible. Waste. Other times it’s been good. Sometimes they forget an item or two. I go frequently since its close by. But no so convenient since you never know. Other times I had to wait 20 min more for my pick up mobile. This time the steak sucks. I paid, I drove, got home & it doesn’t even matter. Not edible. Maybe they poured the last that was at the bottom sitting in grease. I don’t know. Doesn’t matter. This is what they gave me.

I ordered it and showed up at the later time it was supposed to be ready and no other customers were there but they didnt start on it till I arrived. They completely messed up my order and gave me less than I paid for (all the same type of chicken tacos when I had 2 different types and one steak one) They forgot limes, sour cream, cilantro, jalapeños, bell peppers, and added lettuce on two that weren’t supposed to have it. I’ve picked up doordashes from there a few times and it’s clear to see they have some of the most careless and incompetent employees working there.

I’m gonna start off by saying, I love Café Rio!! But quite often they burn the chicken. And they either they gave me the wrong size queso or they have changed. $4.50 for that small little cup, not even filled full, And a small paper bag filled 1/4 full with tortilla chips. In the past, I have received queso in a container three times that size.

I love this place. The freshly made tortillas are worth the price of admission. They are so yummy. I love the adobo chicken. All the fresh salsa and options are amazing. I will come back here.

I’ve never been to a Cafe Rio that is this stingy on meat. I had to recheck to ensure that I wasn’t at another brand Mexican restaurant that is known for that. The grilled chicken was dry and bland, another unusual thing for Cafe Rio. Everything else was fine thus the 3 stars, but you need to try hard to mess up black beans and rice.

This particular place is nice because it gives a different vibe than the one in st george. It is more peaceful and clean feeling, which makes sense given the location and that it is new.
The service is pretty good. The obly problem we had was one of the servers not hearing us very well…I dont know if it was a hearing thing or more of that she wasn’t really enjoying her job and didnt want to be there. Either way, we got our food. It was fresh and tasted delicious.
I think the serving sizes have gone down over the past few years. Its been a couple years since we we last at Cafe Rio and it seemed like the portions were smaller this time around. But still the same delicous flavors!

They weren’t really busy but I had 2 kids by myself and a pick up order with drinks. So they got my drinks and walked me out to my car!! They were so sweet.
Would give a 5 star for food because the food was the best cafe rio I’ve ever had but the chips were half chew and half crunchy. And they didn’t give me silverware.
Everything else was amazing.

Don’t do the mobile pickup line. Our order was supposed to be ready at 7. Got in line at 6:55 and didn’t get our food until 7:40. The employees at the window weren’t acknowledging the cars in line. Our food was cold and my salad only had one tiny piece of pulled pork. Was excited about having one in town, but won’t go back.

I placed an online order at 6pm for a 6:30pm pick up. I arrived at 6:35 hoping to run in and grab our food and go. Unfortunately, my order wasn’t ready and I found I was 6th in line on the “you’re in line for your food to be prepared” screen. Surely it couldn’t be too long before my order would be ready… WRONG! I did not receive my order until 7:13!!! Over an hour after I had placed the order and nearly 45 minutes after the proclaimed ready time. I was in a crunch for time which is why I ordered online in the first place. I would have asked for a refund and left, but I had no idea it would take so long for my order to be ready!! By the time I had waited a half hour it seemed crazy to leave a that point. Customers who had walked into the restaurant the same time as me had already waited in a long line and eaten their food before I received my order. None of the workers would even acknowledge that any customers were there and waiting (and there were several of us) they actually lacked any sense of urgency or awareness at all. I was excited about the new Cafe Rio in Hurricane and hoped it would provide a better experience than their competition, instead I left super disappointed.
