What a delightful surprise this restaurant was! We were in town to walk the mass shooting memorial in Victoria Park and wanted to stop for a bite to eat. We just drove by this restaurant on the way to the park, and decided to have lunch there. They did not disappoint. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. The décor is a bit dated but it doesn’t affect the service or cuisine at all. We definitely recommend.

This was a bit of a surprise!
We were having a drive and decided to stop in for a meal.
The parking is a bit limited given the size (especially once covid restrictions lift) but street parking is an option.
Service was good, quick and courteous.
Interior is well kept and decorated nicely, although it does feel a bit like a classic Chinese restaurant not a bad thing but don’t expect a hyper modern look.
The menu options were actually pretty numerous from the standard combo deals (fried rice, a protein, egg roll), to more specific dishes like mapo tofu.
We picked some pretty standard dishes from the North American Chinese options, combo 7 and 8 (egg roll, BBQ pork. / Chicken balls, stir-fry / fried rice) as well as a hot and sour soup.
The soup was excellent, thick, with lots of BBQ pork.
The mains were also good, the egg roll was really nice and crispy with a meat filling. The chicken balls were excellent, freshly deep-fried the batter was crispy and airy while having a good ratio of meat. The BBQ pork was well made with a good level of seasoning and uniform cuts.
I had the stir-fry and it was also good ample bean sprouts! I tried the fried rice on my spouse’s dish and it was also well done, good amount of soy sauce in there and a good texture to the rice.
Overall the portioning was appropriate, not a stuffed silly but enough that each combo will probably fill up a person amply.
Oh one other thing the table was actually set with white pepper, just a nice touch.
Lastly price, the prices here are great value! Combos start at $6! That is hard to see now days.
Overall highly recommend.

Hands down the worst Chinese food I’ve ever eaten. The chicken balls tasted like they were dipped in Aunt Jemima, the “fried” rice was basically sticky sadness, and they somehow got both combos wrong and it cost over 50 bucks for 2 combos, and 4 extra eggrolls, I still cant figure how . The egg rolls were meat paste nightmares that left me questioning my life choices. Wing Fu in Elmsdale is officially the only place near Truro I’ll trust with Chinese food ever again.

Delicious food! Everything was so fresh and cooked perfectly. The chicken balls were amazing. The chicken was moist and fresh and wasn’t coated in a 1/4” layer of batter. The coating was light and crispy. I was skeptical about the meat egg rolls but they were tasty. The spare ribs were the best I’ve ever had from a restaurant. The meat was tender and juicy and they were full of cartilage. The rice and chow mein was typical. I like how they have a kids menu (basically just a kid size combo plate for $6). They are very friendly and welcoming there. In my opinion, this is definitely the best Chinese food in town. My only complaint would be the portions are a tad smaller than other places.

We were heading from Cape Breton to Halifax Easter Sunday looking for somewhere to eat. Came across this little gem! Very friendly lady and really great food! I’m celiac and they have plenty of choices for gluten and dairy free. We will be back! The honey garlic spare ribs were outstanding!

Finding the perfect restaurant for a certain food is always challenging. With this restaurant it was clean and service was fast. The egg rolls were perfect. The almond chicken soo guy was good. The chicken balls were good. The spare ribs were good. The moo goo guy pan was good but I’d probably try different rice. It wasn’t the best I’ve had. You should be aware the restaurant only takes cash or debit.

For the review: the owners are friendly and the food is delicious. My favourites include the bean curd mixed vegetable, vegetable fried rice, and chicken chow mien. You can’t go wrong with the deep fried wontons, the veggie soup, or their epic veggie spring rolls either (crispy, light, and flaky stuffed with yummy contents and sweet plum sauce to dip). The food is delicious with a great price (especially their lunch specials) and great portions.
For the story: I went here after moving to the carriage house just up the road while it was being renovated. I went in just to check it out one day. One of the owners came out and asked if she could help me and I told her I was just looking for a menu to keep, that I just moved in next door, and I think that “maybe this might become my spot”. Well, it did. After eating here just once, a couple of weeks later I asked some of my fun but loud family to try it with me. We ate like royalty gathered around the big table served with fast and friendly service. We left with leftovers and a smile. Since then, I have went here to celebrate everything: my college graduation, my jobs, my promotions, etc. and I wouldn’t have it any other way. This place has become my spot.
