This place is amazing. Great burgers, onion rings, chili cheese fries. I can’t wait to come back. This reminds me of the burger joints from my childhood. Great staff as well, very friendly, warm atmosphere.

Nothing exciting.
When I arrived there were approximately 7 people in the front side/street side of the restaurant.
I sat in a booth. My waitress was very pleasant. She gave me a menu and asked what I would like to drink. I replied a coke. She arrived within a minute with my can of coke and glass with a straw. They do not have fountain soda/pop here. I looked over the menu and selected a ¼ lb Burger Combo with fries & drink. I realized that there is another entrance in the back and most of the customers were sitting back there. It seems most people come in from that way. My meal arrived within a reasonable amount of time. The burger was tasty. Was disappointed that I was not given a choice of the degree of cooking, as I prefer my burgers to be medium done. The fries were medium thickness not shoestring or steak fries or crinkle cut. They were nicely browned, crispy, & lightly salted. Overall it was a pretty good but average meal. I would not go out of my way but if in the area I would come back.

Atmosphere
Howsa Bouta Old Tyme Burger is located on 22415 Huron River Drive in Rockwood Michigan between Fort Street and the railroad tracks.
It’s a small unassuming place that can be easy to miss.
The staff were friendly, courteous, and accommodating The interior was updated but could use a bit of freshening up. There is also an Ice cream shop but no soda fountain.

Noise Level
It was fairly quiet even when the train goes past or semis drive by. Normal conversation can be had.

Meal
¼ lb Burger Combo includes ¼ lb burger fries and a drink. $6.90

Wheelchair Access
A small step up in front entrance which would be difficult for a wheelchair. No handicap parking that I could see, but the parking is just on the side of the building. Not sure about the rear entrance. There is a small outside seating area as well.

My Rating: 1 Star

10/10 atmosphere.
I love this place so much, when looking for a quick bite to eat my mom and I go here. The food is wonderful, my mom says fish fry Fridays are the best, she loves the fresh fish. I love the burgers and the fried pickles. All of the appetizers that I have tried are fantastic and so are all the entrees I’ve tried.

Great little place. Delicious sliders and amazing broiled chicks. Food is cooked to order and you can tell. They also make shakes in any flavor of ice cream. I got a blue moon shake and it was amazing. Great service!

Nice little restaurant. Lots of history behind it and the town itself. Food is the by far, the best in southeastern michigan. The 50’s/60’s style of the restaurant is really cool and the ice cream there is amazing too. 5 stars, would definitely take the kids, and go again

My wife and I eat here all the time and we’ve never been disappointed. Best Reuben’s North of the Rio Grand and the Friday Fish Fry’s are super. Very nice people, great service and very fair prices. Homemade soups can’t be beat.

Awesome we started having delivery in our Flat Rock home, now live in Newport and they still deliver here. Broasted chicken and potatoes are fantastic. Sliders delicious. 1/2 CB are great. All fried sides…fries hand cut, pickles, onion rings and cauliflower are beyond compare. The only problem is the girls seem not well trained. If the boss isn’t there they don’t know answers or prices. Chris delivers and is great.
