My fiancée and I went here for Valentines day. We wanted to try their food since we are considering using Rosebud as a restaurant for our wedding reception. The food had great portions and was pretty good overall. The service was good. Our waiter got lost or had too many tables to deliver great service. But there was always another employee that helped when he became missing. So that let me know the overall service was good. The atmosphere was great. That was my favorite part. I would recommend trying out the restaurant for yourself

We brought my parents for an anniversary dinner. It was early on a Sunday so the restaurant was quiet. We started with the dumplings and sausage and peppers. Both were good. We also had the French onion soup and the wedge salad. Both were delicious. My husband’s 12oz filet was cooked just right but was a bit salty, the brick oven chicken and chicken parmesan were very generous and very good. The lamb chops were also good. The mashed potatoes were a hit, the tater tots were ok and the cauliflower au gratin was weird. We thought it would be baked but it was large pieces of cauliflower in a cheese sauce. They brought my parents a complimentary dessert. They chose the blueberry cheesecake and they loved it. We took a slice of the chocolate cake home and it was so good we would drive back for more. Our server was great.

My girlfriend and I (party of two, mind you) arrived at 7:58pm for an 8:00pm reservation on NYE and checked in with the host staff. We then waited until about 8:45pm while we watched multiple other, larger parties that arrived well after us get called and seated before us. Only after asking the host staff a second time were we seated. The waitress was very friendly and apologetic for the long wait, and advised that they were short-staffed for the night. We ordered wine and crabcakes to start, and while the wine arrived promptly the crabcakes took over a half-hour to arrive. The crabcakes were fortunately delicious. We each ordered a steak, medium-rare. At about 10:00pm, two hours after we arrived and 45 minutes after we ordered, the steaks finally arrived and they were practically blue. Far from the medium-rare we ordered. For an establishment as highly regarded as Rosebud you would expect $70 steaks to come as ordered. I rejected the food, and the manager came to talk with us. While he was apologetic and offered to make new steaks, I declined as it was now 10pm on NYE and all we had all evening was half a bottle of wine and crabcakes. We ended up getting pizza down the street from Domino’s instead. We will not be returning, as there is plenty of competition for steakhouses in the Chicagoland area.

Dined on Monday, 12/22/2025. First Visit. We were warmly greeted at the door. They offered to check our Winter Coats. Beautiful Restaurant and decor.
While it looked like everything was à la carte, we found that the burgers came with fries, chicken came with asparagus, the medallions came with mashed potatoes. So don’t assume.
Everything was outstanding. The only “take home” was the boneless chicken which was enjoyed for two more at-home dinners!
I attached the receipt which we found reasonable for the quality of the food, the restaurant atmosphere, and the outstanding service.
Heck, we are talking about when we will have “an excuse” to visit again soon.
Parking is right outside the front door and it is easy to reach from the Northwest suburbs.

We had a 7:15PM reservation. We arrived on time and were seated immediately. It was downhill from there. The waitress came to our table to take our drink order about 5-10 minutes after we were seated. She returned about 5 minutes later with the wrong drink for our birthday girl. She wanted a white wine, our server brought her a red wine. The birthday girl said it was okay and opted for a Sprite instead. Our server first told her they didn’t carry Sprite only to come back to our table 10 minutes later with a warm bottle of Sprite. She said she found it in the back. What?? Then we waited another 20 minutes for her to finally take our order. At this point we were losing our patience. When she finally came to the table we asked her if we could have bread. She forgot the bread. We understood things weren’t quite right when the manager had to come to our neighbor’s table 3 times! Apparently we weren’t the only people suffering from poor service that night. The weird part is that our server only had four tables to work with. The worst part was she forgot we were celebrating a birthday. Our waitress was very slow, non attentive, distant, and very forgetful. It was a birthday reservation. In the message to the restaurant, I made it clear that it was a birthday celebration. On a side note.. don’t bother writing a message because no one reads them anyway.
PROS: Great atmosphere clean and inviting. Spaghetti and meatballs were pretty good. Great desert. (Gave the third star for the desert.)
CONS: Service, food mediocre at best. Our filet mignons were very dry.
Conclusion: The food wasn’t great. It’s definitely not a steakhouse. Maybe that’s why the restaurant was only half full on a Saturday night. We had to ask for our own bread. We had to remind her it was a birthday celebration. She was only nice and smiling when she knew she was getting her tip.
I may go back…maybe not. Maybe it was just a bad night for the whole restaurant? Not sure.

I was really looking forward to dining at Rosebud in Wheeling, but the experience was underwhelming from start to finish. The food quality felt more like a regular diner than a well-known Italian restaurant — nothing particularly flavorful or memorable.
The biggest disappointment, though, was the tiramisu. It arrived completely soggy — more like tiramisoup — and lacked the classic layered texture and richness you’d expect.

Took my wife here for her birthday at the end of this past March and was a delightful first experience. Absolutely love the aesthetic of this new venue and kudos to the interior decorator(s).
Just like many high-end steakhouses out there, extensive wine rack as well as a fine alcohol/cocktail menu and our server Sergei who was very friendly & attentive was also the bartender.
My wife & I both went with the Filet Mignon with different styles which were delicious. Would’ve went with a large lobster tail or a pair of smaller ones if they woulda had it but wasn’t on the menu and no biggie, though.
It was a wonderful evening and another hit on the fine dining list for us. I wish for decades of boomin’ business to come for the owner(s).
