Clean spot with indoor seating available. I ordered a gyro which was a good size and a salad. They allow you to select the food within your salad. Also, I tried the chocolate cake and red velvet cake which was good.

This halal spot on Long Island is a hidden gem! I tried the fish and shrimp platter and it was absolutely amazing—perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside. You can really taste the freshness. The portions are generous and the prices are more than fair for the quality. The owner is incredibly kind and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. Definitely my new go-to for halal seafood. Highly recommended!

I just purchased the 3 chicken $5 deal passing through. The chicken is so stale and flavorless and the man in the front of the store is SO rude. He completely ignored my presence and kept counting money and looking down for minutes on end. After patiently waiting for a while, i had to say him. Then he wouldn’t let us order, he lept picking up the phone ignoring us, making us stand and wait there. When I asked if he could substitute simething, instead of saying no, sorry. He yells NO. Absolutely rude. Will not be back.

Ordered combo over rice that comes with fries and salad. I didn’t get the salad but did add corn and red onions. I had them put white sauce, green sauce, hot sauce, and Hunchos sauce on it. It was amazing. Definitely the best halal food I’ve had in a while and there are a lot of good ones in the Nassau area. Go to Hunchos. It’s open late.

I visited Huncho’s Halal Spot after seeing a video online, and decided to break our fast there with my family. At first, I was a bit unsure—there was a homeless person sitting at one of the tables—but he didn’t bother anyone and it didn’t affect our experience. The restaurant itself was very clean and well-kept, which made a good impression.
We started our meal with the smash burger, which was freshly made and absolutely on point—tasted great! But the real star of the night was the fried chicken. Honestly, one of the best I’ve ever had—crispy, perfectly seasoned, and cooked fresh. Just amazing.
We also had a medium fries, which were again fresh and seasoned to perfection—delicious. Since we mentioned we were fasting, the staff kindly gave us complimentary water bottles and sodas, which we truly appreciated. That kind gesture meant a lot.
For the main dish, we ordered the mix combo over rice. The portion sizes were huge—we couldn’t even finish! The platter was clearly made with care. The rice was full of flavor, and both the chicken and lamb were juicy and tender, not dry at all.
To the team at Huncho’s: thank you for making our Iftar so special. Your hospitality and the quality of your food truly stood out. You’ve earned a loyal customer and I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended—a true gem in the area!

Let’s start with the location: it’s situated in a very crowded plaza. Parking is tight, and trying to navigate the lot can be frustrating. Adding to the chaos, there always seems to be a huge crowd—sometimes what feels like 20-30 people—just hanging around outside. Between the congestion, limited parking, and general foot traffic, the whole setup feels a bit overwhelming and, frankly, a little uncomfortable. It seems like it could be a recipe for disaster someday.
Now, onto the restaurant itself—this is where things get much better.
They offer an expansive menu with a variety of options. The inside of the restaurant is clean and maintained well, with four tables available if you’re planning to dine in. As a pescatarian, I opted for the fish, shrimp, and fries combo. It was flavorful and well-seasoned, For $17 (which included a bottle of water), the portion size was solid and definitely justified the price.
Overall, Huncho Halal is worth checking out for the food alone. But next time, I’ll probably skip the in-person experience and go with a delivery service instead. The location and crowd situation just makes it a bit too hectic for my taste.

I know what you’re thinking. “A gyro place that sells fried chicken I’ve seen this before” but this review is specifically for the smash burger.
It’s very good! They are using actual martins potato buns. The smashed patty uses fresh ground beef – not frozen or any of that. It tastes genuinely good. The seating inside is clean and modern. Good amount of parking. Prices are good.

Huncho’s is Honestly the best Halal Food I’ve ever had in New York. I’ve tried the platters, chicken tenders, and gyros, and everything has been delicious and packed with flavor. Nothings tops the food at Huncho’s. Everything on the menu is a must try. Mo and the guys are very kind and hospitable, they gave some of the best service I’ve ever had. Hunchos has honestly been the best place in Long Island for me to get late night eats and relax.
