We went for dinner for Valentine’s Day. This was our first time at Fancypants. The staff, every one of them, were fantastic. Super friendly and attentive as well as knowledgeable about everything they served. The complimentary cocktail at the door was very good and unexpected. We sat in the heated outdoor section and it was beautifully decorated and the temperature was perfect. We were aware going into this experience that it’s not your average restaurant experience, and we were excited. We decided to go with the higher priced steak option at the recommendation of our server. I won’t go through all of the courses as there were many things brought to the table (4 courses including the steak). The overall experience was fun, and the atmosphere was very nice, but I am disappointed to report that the majority of the food was either not so good, or just outright not appetizing at all. Most glaringly the steak was not good at all. We don’t know if it’s just because of the wood fire flavor, or some kind of seasoning, but there was no flavor at all from the beef itself. The steak comes with a side of sauce and the sauce is also not good. Also important to note, and I’m sure this information is written plainly on the menu, you are paying $125 per person (2 people minimum) for 1 steak to share. Last note, the location. Fancypants is located on Dickerson Pike directly across the street from government assistance housing, not a huge deal in and of itself, but kind of crazy to think that for 2 of us to go to dinner on Dickerson Pike for food that was mostly not appetizing I spent $384. We would love to see this improve, but as of now we will not be returning.

Fancypants – the restaurant you didn’t know you needed in your life. This restaurant stands out from all other Nashville eateries based purely on the menu and staff! The food is amazing with unique flavors combining the best of multiple cuisine concepts. The staff is EXTREMELY knowledgeable, friendly and will go above and beyond to ensure you have an amazing experience.

So far we have been twice, and both times we have left with an amazing experience.

Do yourself a favor – just order the full gamut of entrees with the Chefs Steak Dinner. It’s easily the best way to experience what this amazing restaurant has to offer.

We’ve decided it’s easily one of our top locations in all of Nashville!

I can’t recommend FancyPants enough! I’ve been a couple of times now, each with a different menu, and every visit has blown me away. From the creative dishes to the elevated overall experience, everything feels thoughtful and intentional. The food is upscale but actually tastes good, which feels rare these days. If you’re looking for a truly unique dining experience, this is well worth the reservation.

MUST try:
Butternut Squash
Pesto Pasta
Vodka Shells

First, parking. As a Nashville area native, I know parking can be extremely annoying. They have a lot with free parking, and like a real lot. Not a small back alley strip where you need to parallel park. Getting in and out with your insurance agent ready to call.

Location and parking. 10/10 for me.

It’s a “come as you are” casual meets fine dining. Show up in jeans, and no one is giving you weird looks in this absolutely fine but fun establishment. I’m going to share photos of the food. We did the Steak dinner which was “tell us what you’re allergic and hate eating” but we’re picking the menu, but don’t worry it’ll include this massive steak” for $125 per person. I have a textural issue with most beans/legumes, and they made me eat a whole bowl of fava beans. It was so good. The red vodka pasta was served AFTER the massive steak which we boxed half of because it was so good but so filling. And I nearly ate the whole plate of pasta myself. It’s all the comfort of chef boyardee with all the talent of a fine dining chef. My husband is a deviled egg guy, and he said it was the best deviled egg of his life.

For dessert, I couldn’t even pretend to decide between two, so I asked them to flip a coin, and bring out whatever it was: in comes the birthday cheesecake. I hate sprinkles. I ate 75% of this cake myself. It was divine.

Drinks? They gave us a house made soda that I couldn’t get enough of. I was even brought over a secret extra little stash. I ordered their tiki rum cocktail and my husband got their whiskey smash. I stole the whiskey smash, because it was the most comforting bourbon drink I’d ever had.

Don’t let me forget about their bread service? Simple focaccia bread with homemade seasoned olive oil. Fantastic.

The service, the food, the owner, the waitress, everything. It was exactly the birthday I had hoped for, and the check came in a wallet. It was all so cute.

absolutely incredible experience. they make you feel right at home and welcome the second you walk in the door. I came in last night while in town for the weekend, and am so glad I happened upon this place. My favorite dish was the special on the menu for the night- the duck course with a foie gras sauce with I believe maitake mushrooms and a sausage on the side. I also had the hiramasa crudo and the jammy deviled egg. I wish I would’ve had other people to go with me so I could’ve ordered more dishes, but those three were the perfect amount of food for one, not to mention a few other small bites they brought me to try of other dishes and the complimentary drink upon arrival. The creativity is what really makes this place stand out, and what drew me to it with to begin with is having that elevated menu while still being fun. If I lived local, I would frequent this place often as the menu is rotating so there’s always something new to explore.

Chauntel with Offline – Absolutely phenomenal experience!

Fancy Pants exceeded all expectations. From the moment I walked in, the service was warm, attentive, and professional. You get a complementary cocktail in an adorable glass cup. The plating was nothing short of art, every dish was beautifully presented didn’t disappoint in flavor. You can tell that a lot of care and creativity goes into every detail, from the ingredients to the presentation.

From the moment we stepped in the door with the complimentary welcome cocktail, it was fantastic. The decor is a vibe which we loved. Our server was amazing and went over the menu with us made suggestions and was extremely knowledgeable of everything “Fancy Pants” we loved everything from the caviar dip, glitter gold fish, vodka shells, cacio e pepe, steak, to the ribs, the cocktails were all very unique. We were so full we could not even fathom ordering a dessert, which if we did I know it would of been out of this world. It was not just a dinner it was an experience. We will definitely be going again in the future.

12/10 experience from start to finish! From the welcome drink to the interesting, thoughtful menu options, to the feisty vibe (with awesome touches of DGAF humor), we were so impressed and delighted. The food and drinks and service and personal touches were truly amazing in a sea of terrific restaurants around a bustling Nashville. Fancypants is a standout. Do not skip the jammy eggs. The birthday cake cheesecake is also a MUST DO. MUST. Really had the best night and will be back so soon and with many friends! Well done, Fancypants!!!
