Right away when you walk in here, there is a feeling of hopefulness. It is very well put together. The seats are extremely comfortable and the entire presentation gives an vibe of a private openness.
The staff is very friendly. We were greeted by everybody in the restaurant when we walked in.
The food was very good. We had the miso, muscles, spicy rainbow roll, and cucumber roll. None of them disappointed.
After we were finished eating they gave us each a slice of watermelon.
I would highly recommend this place for a business lunch, family dinner, first date, etc.

Truly a hidden gem in bakersfield! The place is clean, cozy & simply exquisite. The presentation is creative & beautifully executed. Also the customer service is welcoming & timely. Our food was out in less than 20 minutes of ordering.

Took 3 of my nephews and mom out for an early birthday celebration.
2 in my group has never eaten Sushi and they along with the rest of us loved everything about Kuma Sushi.
I love the atmosphere here at Kuma Sushi. Extremely pleasant. Our server was exceptional! The food, Baked Salmon Roll, California Roll, Shrimp Temura Roll, Rainbow Roll, Fried Shrimp, and Calamari left us wanting more of the rolls but we were so full we couldn’t eat another bite.
I will continue returning to this establishment and bring family and friends with me to enjoy everything Kuma has to offer.
There’s nothing but the highest praises to give about Kuma. I trust that others feel the same way.

The food here was amazing and such a great price! We came for the lunch special and it did not disappoint. I ordered the bulgogi bento box and it was a 10/10. We also got 2 rolls for just $15 and they were absolutely delicious. The decor and atmosphere are really cozy and comfortable, which made the experience even better. The cherry on top was being served fresh watermelon while waiting for the bill—such a thoughtful touch! Definitely coming back. Love it here!

We came here 2 other times with a whole group and the owner came over and was very accommodating and friendly, made sure we had everything we needed.
The sushi comes out fast – with fabulous presentation and taste.
We really enjoy bringing friends and introducing this spot – such a hidden gem with a cozy and positive atmosphere !

Wish I took photos but we were so hungry. We got 2 special rolls and 1 basic roll for 2 people and had 2 canned sodas. The food was perfect, beautifully plated, and filling! The service was outstanding. Our server was kind with a great, friendly demeanor about her but not hovering. The place is narrow, but so clean and well-decorated in a clean, crisp way. We don’t live in town, but come to Bakersfield often. We have gone to many sushi places and love them all, but this one is right on our route to leave AND the place was the cleanest I’ve seen with the most variety of rolls, and to top it all off, it was cheaper for our 3 rolls than 3 rolls normally elsewhere. Will definitely be back in as soon as we go to Bakersfield again!

Absolutely phenomenal! Pleasant people, great service, fantastic good and a relaxed atmosphere. I highly recommend Kuma Sushi in downtown Bakersfield.
As someone that has very high standards for restaurants, I can definitely say that Kuma Sushi passed with flying colors. The server was a short distance away, kept an eye out on our glasses and refilled them when necessary and step in to ask if we needed anything at the perfect time.
The food was delicious and filling. The ingredients were fresh and had a great presentation.
Lastly, I can’t express how welcomed, Judy, the host made my fiance and I feel while we waited for a table.
We will definitely be dining here again.

I came here on the recommendation of one of the workers at Hard Rock. I told him I liked spicy sushi and this place nailed it.
I hand the Ex-girlfriend and asked him to make it extra spicy. It was spot on, the perfect amount of heat to punch you in the mouth without drounding out the flavor. It’s honestly a delicate balancing act.
The service was outstanding, my server helped me pick out another roll. Not as spicy but a perfect compliment to the ex friend.
I’ll for sure be back.

I ordered takeout for lunch. I got the pick 2 sushi roll lunch special you get 2 rolls, salad, and miso soup for 19$. It’s a lot of food for such a good price. I also got a deep fried California roll. Everything was so delicious. 10/10 will be coming back
