I came to this restaurant with high expectations. Usually when you are able to customize your meals, you get a good experience. The food was okay. It wasn’t anything special and I did not think the novelty of the idea was worth the price. There was a soup and salad bar and the soup was super watery, the salad area was incredibly small with little to no variety. The cleanliness and sanitary procedures needs to be improved. I saw another customer there making her bowl piling raw chicken on with her hands and then touching the tongs again. This was very disturbing to watch. There wasn’t even a sneeze guard, So essentially anything can fly in the food. Also there were raw meats mixing with other raw meat. I saw shrimp in chicken areas and steak in crab areas. Needless to say this wasn’t a gratifying experience and I was not pleased. The customer service was the only reason I didn’t give it 1 star because the people working here were nice.

My first time here, I had a great experience. Although it was a bit high I like the concept. The guy on the grill was friendly, he made a few suggestions. The waitress was a bit slower but she was helpful as well. I had a good time here.

I was at this location today and even though it was extremely busy, I could tell all the staff members were working really hard and trying to make sure everyone was being served in a timely manner. I was really impressed to see how well they worked together as a team. The manager stopped by our table to check in and our waitress brought everything we needed in a timely manner. The guys on the grill were super fun and interactive. Overall a great experience, I would definitely recommend it for a family dinner or date night!

I love the food and the concept here. However this particular location has gone downhill. It always smells like sewage when you walk in the door. The place is incredibly dirty. To top the icing on the cake, we were seated and waited 15 minutes before stopping a waitress to let her know we haven’t been helped. She took our drink order, and 5 minutes later the manager came over and proceeded to argue with us because my parents ordered an alcoholic drink for me (which is legal in Wisconsin). We told him that we were upset because we had been waiting for 20 minutes to get service, and he dismissed our complaint and just continued to lecture my parents. He still didn’t take our order and we decided to leave, upset about how rude the manager was to us. Very disappointed, and I’m very upset because there isn’t any other locations nearby.

While I have been here a few times with great experiences, my last visit was very disappointing. It was not busy, but after being seated we waited around 10 minutes for just drink orders, and even longer for actual food orders. The employees (except for the guys at the grill, they were amazing as ever!) and hostess seemed bored and inattentive. When going through the buffet-style build your own bowl to be grilled, much of the food looked as if it had been sitting out awhile and needed to be refreshed. There was food underneath the buffets and the floor greatly needed to be swept. Even after grilling, our food simply did not seem “fresh” but tasted more like warmed up leftovers. Also, we noticed while their service quality dropped, their regular prices went up.

Walking in the hostess was friendly but as we walked back, we noticed how dirty the dining area was. The waitress was polite and explained the whole process well for our first time here. Price was a little high for only one bowl. The cooks didn’t seem enthusiastic and kept their backs to the customers the whole time. Meat ended up being dry and overcooked. Can’t say I’d return to this location.

Our hostess had no modesty since she dug an itch on one of her breast right in front of my group. Then our waitress was very absent minded. The waitress didn’t bring our drinks or appetizer until well after we had gotten our Mongolian stir-fry nor did we get place settings until we asked. Also the variety of options on the stir-fry was very slim compared to other locations I have been to.
The place was busy but far from packed or hectic. The staff was slow to restock the buffet so I didn’t get any noodles which I never experienced a shortage of at other locations.
Needless to say my whole groups experience was far from satisfactory. And my expectations for satisfaction is far lower than the average person but this one ranks at the top 5 – 10 in worst dinning experiences I have had in my 35 years of life. And I’m being generous with that ranking.
I love going to bd’s Mongolian grill but I won’t be returning to this location anytime soon. I was extremely disappointed.
I think the only positive part was one of the grill cooks was fairly respectful and responsive to all guest.

Great service and food! Brought my kids here today for lunch. It was great how many options there were for them because they are such picky eaters. They had lots of fun assembling their own bowls and watching the grillers do fun tricks! They downed a couple sodas and the waitress refilled each time. Surprised by how fast the appetizers came and the great prices! I will definitely be returning in the future and hope the staff keeps up the awesome work (:

After talking my wife up on this restaurant from having good experiences in the past, I finally got to take her here. I/we were utterly disappointed.
After being seated, I used the rest room, which had the look and feel of not being regularly cleaned.
The restaurant eating area looked messy with debris on the floor, but this was nothing in comparison to what we saw at the stir fry buffet. The meats were poorly stocked, with various unidentified liquids on the serving line. The chicken tongs were sticky.
Things got progressively worse on the vegetable and sauce lines, with sauces slopped everywhere, including the floor. There were inadequate sauce containers available.
The cooking line was a complete shitshow with people lined up 3-deep behind a filthy counter. After 10 minutes if wait in an free-for-all atmosphere, one of the cooks directed my wife and I to the other end of the cooking area. We had to wade through dropped food and surly patrons, in tight quarters trying not to knock bowls of food off the railing in the process, only to find that others had taking up the spots the cook directed is to.
We were so beyond disgusted with the place that we couldn’t eat the food and won’t be coming back.
