I was excited to try the new Chipotle, but apparently opening week also meant “ingredient roulette.” They were out of white rice and black beans which is impressive considering those are basically half the menu. To top it off, the staff seemed about as thrilled to be there as I was to pay full price for a bowl missing key ingredients. On the bright side, the line moved fast… probably because half the food wasn’t available. Hoping they find the rice cooker and the customer service manual before my next visit.

After reading reviews, we decided not to try to order online due to the excessive wait time. We dined in around 6ish and they were out of almost everything and were completely out of vegetables. There were only like 3 other people in the restaurant and 2 people ordering ahead of us. The people working (minus one sweet guy) were rude and acted like they were pissed about having to be there and wanted people to leave. I ordered a burrito and my husband ordered a bowl and they were both pretty empty. Really disappointed because we love Chipotle and the Bellingham location is always so great.

I’ve ordered from this location twice now and been disappointed each time.

The first time I ordered a burrito and ended up with a burrito bowl , not a huge issue but what was irritating was the portion ratio. I had 1 medium chunk of beef and most of it was rice.

The second time I ordered from this location I got my burrito but less beef than the first time 6-7 beans, little salsa and packed full of rice.

Honestly feels like a rip off with how much the food costs. I’ve been eating chipotle about twice a week for the last 5 years and never had issues like this in Bellingham, Burlington, or Seattle.

Chipotle isn’t a franchise so this isn’t due to an owner trying to maximize profits it’s likely bad training and chipotle should audit this location. This is also the only one I’ve been to where the wait times for the chipolane are outrageous. Most the time my food is ready 2-5 minutes before the pickup time and I order 15min before hand.

Ok, so it is the third day since opening…but I put an online order at 5:30 pm with a pickup time at 6:30 pm and it’s 7:00 pm and my order is not even in the cue. My bad for hoping that the time would be somewhat close.

The line up inside took about 40 minutes to go through (I watched while I waited)…and I can’t imagine how long the drive thru would take as it wrapped around and I haven’t seen food passed through the window (from my inside wait observations)…for QUITE some time.

But! The staff is being as friendly as they can during this insane rush/wait time. Hope it settles soon.

The first time I ordered a burrito, it came out fine. The second time, they barely added chicken. It seemed they didn’t have enough chicken or didn’t care, because the chicken was only added to the ends of the burrito. Whoever made the burrito was clearly trying to make it look like it had more chicken than it actually did. Also, I ordered queso on the side but got guacamole instead. Ordered online both times. So far, inconsistent service.

I’m honestly really disappointed with my recent visit to Chipotle. The portion sizes have gotten ridiculously small compared to what they used to be. I ordered the same bowl I always get, and it looked like they barely put anything in it just a thin layer of rice, hardly any protein, and a tiny scoop of toppings. For the price they’re charging now, it definitely doesn’t feel worth it.

I get that costs go up, but shrinking portions this much just makes it seem like they’re cutting corners at the customer’s expense. One of the main reasons I used to go to Chipotle was because you could count on getting a filling meal, but that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. If this is the new standard, I’d honestly rather take my business somewhere that gives better value for the money.

Don’t place your food online or mobile!!! You will be waiting 30 mins minimum and even longer if you go through the pick up drive thru. Even if you place your order hours ahead with a set time for pick up. And you can’t refund online if you run out of time waiting. – my experience I’ve ordered online 4 times even when not busy, I’m still waiting 30 mins and once had to leave with no food.

We were really excited about Chipotle coming to Lynden, but unfortunately our first experience was very disappointing.

We placed an online order scheduled for 7:00 PM and selected drive-through pickup. When we arrived, we ended up waiting in the drive-through line until 7:45 PM. During that entire time there was no communication or apology — it just felt like “tough luck.”

What made it more frustrating was watching people walk inside, place orders, and leave with food while we were still stuck in line waiting for our prepaid order. By the time we finally received our food, it was cold, the service felt disorganized, and the overall experience was poor.

Waiting 45 minutes in a drive-through with two screaming kids in the car made the situation even worse, and there didn’t seem to be much concern from staff.

Sadly, we won’t be coming back to this location. We’d rather make the drive to Bellingham to avoid this experience again.

Great food, great place. I would 100% recommend it if you’re wanting to eat something out that won’t ruin your diet while on the run or if you’re feeling lazy about cooking. Service was great!

Portion sizes are a joke. It’s not a Chipotle thing it’s a location thing. The Bellingham location isn’t this bad.
