The place is very trendy and super clean. The owner Vikram is really nice and while everyone else was drinking from the bar he accommodated my request for hot Green tea.
We ate buffet style and I tried a bit of everything. I’m glad I did. I really liked the buttered chicken. All the food was very tasty and not too spicy. In fact, it was just the right amount which shows me the chef cares enough to add the proper amount of flavor without burning the palate.

I will be going back.

The appetizers were great…especially the heavenly drums. It was seasoned so well and the chicken was very juicy and tender. The lamb shesh kebaab sounded good but mediocre- wasn’t seasoned very well. Also had the tandoor chicken plate which was seasoned very well but the chicken was hard…felt like frozen chicken was used.

The entrees were average…not too impressed. The chicken tikka masala gravy tasted very good but the chicken was hard. The chili chicken was really good…seasoned well and chicken was very tender. The dum chicken biriyani was seasoned well but the rice was undercooked. Garlic naan was awesome but a little over cooked/crispy. Service was really good, very friendly. However not really sure if I’d return…

Beautiful dinning experience in here. All I have concern is they didn’t let us seat where We wanted, entire place were empty that time.

Very clean and well maintained place. Food quality is excellent. Server was very polite and courteous. Over all the place is a keeper. Just tried lunch once. Will be going back to try different menu items.

If anyone knows Indian food, has a taste for it, this will be rated 9 or 10. If anyone wants to try first time, try this place because you don’t want to have a bad feeling about Indian food. This will set some standard for you to compare other places so you know it is not Indian food that you don’t like, it is the way it is cooked. Good luck. Enjoy guys/gals.

Last night we had the most delicious meal at Taj. I had chicken Korma and my husband had Goan fish. Both were exceptional! The drinks were great. The best cosmopolitan I have ever had. This is our 3rd visit. The food and service are consistently amazing. The owner came to our table to ask if everything was okay and we were able to express our satisfaction. She was very kind as was our waiter who went out of his way to make sure we were happy with everything. The restaurant is lovely and clean. The ambiance is perfect. One of the best restaurants in Long Island! I highly recommend it!

It was better the first 2 times, the 3rd time we went, one of the dish was undercooked. The peas in a vegetarian curry was hard and crunchy. The flavor was awesome but peas was not cooked. All other dishes were very good. We had 2 appetizers and 2 dishes and a dessert. Service was very good too.

In a word, superb. Fusion with an emphasis on South Indian cuisine, everything is fresh, as you’d expect, deeply authentic, and doesn’t veer too far off course. I have had a good amount of Indian food, either out or on a Goa home cooked level, and this is the closest I’ve had to that on Long Island. Despite being a fusion restaurant, the food has a home cooked attention to detail in its flavors, not overly complex or trying to be something that it can’t. The rice is cooked correctly, the curry is authentic but if anything perhaps a bit lighter than your standard Indian spot north of Wantagh. The meat is tender, juicy, grilled perfectly. I had the lamb Josh, was superb. To top it all off, the service was impeccable. Frank, our waiter, was a true professional. A smooth delivery of our meal, with just the right amount of attention and class. Something you’d expect at only really high end restaurants… I can think of other things I like about the place but there’s a word limit. Cheers.

Went here on a Sunday hopping they had a lunch buffet. No luck. Overall the food was good. I had the cilantro tomato soup which was great and a lamb dish which was also good. My wife got the recommended artichoke appetizer that was over priced and mostly inedible. Both our main dishes were sauce heavy and appeared to have a similar base that was on sweet side, tasted a lot like tamarind base. We had one small bowl of rice that came with our meal that wasn’t quite enough for us both. Overall the meal was enjoyable and not to pricey excluding the artichoke appetizer. If you order mild, expect the heat to be more medium to hot. The ambiance is great except for the “dance fusion” music that was really loud. I possibly might consider returning, but there are other options out there there that are better.
