We really enjoyed this place! I had the orange chicken with rice and it was delicious — the chicken was a little overcooked, but the flavor was excellent! My husband had the beef with vegetables and rice, and he was very happy with his meal too.

I don’t like negative reviews but I want to be honest. Ok the rice and sesame chicken was very good BUT the lemon pepper wings had way too much seasoning. One bite and I couldn’t do any more. My husband loves to eat and rarely ever turns down chicken wings but he even turned these down.

Sadly very disappointing. I wanted to support this but if you know anything about authentic Chinese food you’ll know this is just not it. The jianbing is a favorite in China, simple and classic. I’m not sure why this place feels compelled to put lettuce in it, where is the cilantro?? With the lettuce it honestly tastes like a meatless hamburger. It was a mess to eat too, very loose and floppy. I feel bad for the people who are trying this for the first time because this is not a good representation of a staple Chinese meal. I also would not recommend the sausage jianbing. It’s $3 extra and there is barely any sausage.
The other almost insulting thing is calling their dumplings “homemade”. I’ve bought enough frozen dumplings from the Chinese grocery store to able to say that these look/taste/feel exactly like it. Tragic.
The “spicy” crispy chicken was pure salt and zero spicy. Portion size was teeny tiny for the price. Even if there was more it would have been hard to eat given how salty it was.
Overall a sad food experience 🙁

What an awesome new option here in Pineville! We had some excellent food! I got the Peking duck Jian bing and the spicy pork bites and they were both excellent. Also the passion tea was perfect, not too sweet.

Ive tried this place twice and refuse to go back.
The food is bland. I ordered beef and broccoli, but its tough bland meat covered in sauce. Seems like the cook didnt brine/
marinate or tenderize the meat. Broccoli was super hard. The laziest cooking Ive ever experienced. Do they not taste test their recipes to check quality? I bet what theyre selling is something theyd never eat. No flavor and horrible texture. Why bother selling it? Get rid of it and replace it with a more efficient dish if they dont want to brine/marinate and tenderize the meat.
Their jianbing is soggy and dry. This was the worst of em all. A few bites and I threw it away.

I tried their food when Alley51 1st opened and even recommended it to others but the quality 2 yrs later has changed. The orange chicken is not the quality from before. The texture of the meat seems off to me as well as the flavor of the sauce. I specifically went out of our area because I thought this Chinese restaurant would separate themselves from the typical “take out” places that I don’t like. Sad to see they are charging so much and lowering their standards.

Serving northern Chinese streetfood. The food is very good and service is extremely fast. Highly recommend the roasted cold noodles.

I ordered the honey chicken and the meat was not enjoyable- tough and stringy. The system that sends out text messages when your order is done didn’t seem to work because I got all of the messages much later in the day. They couldn’t even part with a cheap to-go container I requested for a friend’s take home birthday cake.
