I love Sam’s corner. I really do. Like many of these reviewers, I’ve also been coming here since they opened, over 30 years. I came when I was younger; I bought my kids when they were little, and, on a recent visit in September, I ran in to grab a hotdog. I found myself a solo customer. That was totally fine. I was going to eat my hotdog and read a little bit.
And the place hasn’t changed. It’s fabulous and festive with the old fortuneteller machine in the back. The barstools have a facelift and are coated with nice new red material. But the layout remains, which is wonderful.

Here is my issue: and this is why it is not five stars. My hotdog seemed like it had been overcooked or just sitting out for a while. I was the only customer. So I wasn’t expecting something super fancy, but if you take a look at the pictures, the hotdog was a bit… Underwhelming. I love slaw and chili, and that was plentiful, but the dog itself seemed like it was a bit… Older, like it has been cooked and sitting there, almost like the ones you find in a gas station rotisserie.
So, Sam’s, I’m hoping you can step up your hot do game. Something nicer and juicier would be great in the future! Perhaps they were just having an off-day with a chef. I’ll see what happens when we return in a few months.

We love Sam’s corner. I’ve been coming here since I was a young child. I know bring my family here. The food is excellent. Definitely get a corn dog and some chili cheese fries! Staff is awesome. Friendly people who care about where they work. Be sure to check it out.

I have been enjoying a trip to Sam’s corner for nearly 40 years. Every time I am in the area, it is a must stop location. The diner is original, small, and absolutely perfect. They treat you like a local diner should. Gotta love a foot long chili dog!

Great old fashion diner on the ocean with really great prices. I order the footlong hotdog which was on point and large pickle straight from the big glass jar delicious.
So many great options for food and also you grab cocktails while you enjoy the great music playing in the background inside.

The crab cake sandwich is so good!
The wings are really tasty too, they’re not breaded so you get more PROTEIN.
Onion rings are delish as always.
We also got the footling chilidog plus a regular hot dog. Both were very tasty but the hot dog was a bit dry? Not sure how to describe it but the hotdog wasn’t juicy, but it still tasted really good. It just almost felt like you needed some sauce with it.

The staff was super friendly. They gave helpful recommendations on the menu. The service was speedy as well.

The restaurant was clean and had plenty of space and seating. Overall I’m glad we stopped by this spot to fill our tummies. The prices were reasonable as well, I think we spent around 50 for everything including tip and taxes.

I wish I could give it a better rating. The Italian sausage was 4-5stars, cheese fries were good, and our daughter liked the cheeseburger. The woman at the counter were super nice.
But we couldn’t get over the fact that as soon as the chili dog got sat down at the table all 4 of us smelled doo doo. Our girls even put the chili dog up to their nose and said it smelled like feces. My gf and I tried one little bite of the chili and it made both of us gag. We are from Cincinnati so we are used to different chili but this straight tasted like it smelled like poop. Maybe it’s supposed to be like that I have no idea but I will not be returning for the chili lol.

The food was stellar and the service was GREAT! My friend and I ordered burgers and fries, and our order came out fast and hot. The atmosphere was fun with lots of 60s music, a fortune machine, and a quarter fall machine. Seating varies, there are several counter stools, and several booths. We loved it!

Good decent Burger but bad presentation. They plopped my Burger right on top of my Chili Cheese fries! (see pic) Also, I would avoid the Chili, it taste like Hormel Chili (no beans) to me. Yuck. The service kind of sucks too. You have to walk in front of people ordering to get your food and the whole thing looks like it could get really chaotic. You don’t know where to get refills, you don’t want to cut in front of anybody. People are asking where the line is etc. etc. etc. Overall, I wouldn’t go back but I did eat their twice while I was in town, so you never know.

I really hate to do this. I read a review of a prior post about “old hotdog” and just to give that reviewer and update on my experience with their Coney footlong hot dogs. I found that they deep fry the hot dogs. They do not grill them and they toast the rolls versus steamed. I purchased a footlong hot dog Coney style with chili onions and mustard and made the biggest mistake of my life to ask for extra chili sauce. After receiving the hot dog it just was disgusting it fell flat and fell apart not just because of the extra grease from the chili but the grease from the hot dog. I couldn’t even hold that hot dog together it disintegrated. I did not say anything because the lady that took my order was so wonderful the one star is for her she was very kind upon ordering. I’m not used to having hot dogs prepared in that manner. Originally I’m from Worcester Massachusetts where we have a beacon spot George’s Coney Island hot dogs. There they grill the hot dogs on a flat top grill and steam the rolls. They use New England Kayem hot dogs made in locally in Chelsea. Their chili is stellar and award winning, their own recipe which is so delicious no one can make chili that goes on a hot dog like they do, and then the usual onions and mustard. It is probably the best Coney Island hot dog in the country. It is iconic. I wish Sam’s what do their hot dogs the proper way. Left my phone in the car so I couldn’t take pictures of this event which I wish I did You would have understood exactly everything I’m saying. So sorry for this negative review but I have to be truthful.
