This place is definitely a Yep! and my favorite BBQ place right now. A chef friend taught me that the measure of BBQ joint is the burnt ends, and it is always what he tries first at new resturante. I have never had better burnt ends than here. Pure melt in your mouth goodness. Food is made to order so be prepared to wait while they put it togeter and BTW the wait is worth every min. They do a kind of ‘batch cooking’ and have the foods listed that are available in the main window on hanging wood planks – so they don’t always have everything on their menu. I went back three times this weekend to try the ‘armadillo eggs’, and I regret nothing!

An extra bonus they have a new indoor seated area and the AC is awesome, plus the decor is a very charming display St Joe nostalgia. Sorry now picture of the burnt ends – it was all gone before I thought to.

Very good BBQ. Had the Jalapeño Sausage and the Brisket Burnt Ends. Both were excellent. We also ordered the Cole slaw, Beans, and a Banana Cream desert, a of which were fresh and tasted great. I was especially impressed with the Cole Slaw, as the dressing was different from most, unique and had an excellent flavor, definitely a winner. The service was attentive and very friendly. We will certainly be back the next time we are in the area.

DELICIOUS! Best bbq I’ve ever had, well worth the price! It definitely has a rustic appearance, but it’s nice, the food is however spectacular! Best pulled pork, brisket and peach cobbler I’ve ever had, their fries are unique and delicious. The only thing I wish they had done differently is if they had a sign near the avenue saying they were open or closed, I had wanted to stop many times but just drove on due to it looking vacant, but know that I know what the hours are I’m much more confident in coming back. 10/10 would recommend and will be back.

Easy to get to with ample parking. Currently open Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Like the sign says, “When the food’s gone, we’re gone.” No indoor dining, just place your order at the window, the menu is on a board and clearly shows the pricing. An outdoor cafeteria style. They take your name and and call you when it is done. There are several tables to eat outside or wait for your order. Several tables have an umbrella. I got a pound of burnt ends which came wrapped in butcher paper. I’ll have enough to eat for 3 meals. The Texas Red sauce was good but I could have used more, it’s 25 cents a container. I also got half a pint of slaw which was a red cabbage, not the creamy type. I also had a half pint of mac and cheese which was also good. French fries are the best I have ever had anywhere. Chopped brisket is perfect. No BBQ sauce needed for chopped brisket and no ketchup needed for fries…it was literally that good. Good overall value, glad I went and I’ll be back. EDIT: I just had the egg, cheese, chopped brisket with grilled onions for breakfast. I have to say I am very impressed. EDIT: Today I had the Rubi-Q sandwich…a very impressive smokehouse twist on a Rueben. As for me, it’s my new, favorite sandwich.

Took a trip to the north side of town for breakfast at this local gem. The staff was phenomenal and the atmosphere just felt and smelled like barbecue. My brother suggested we both get the pulled pork gravy and black pepper biscuits with fried eggs and we each ordered brisket breakfast tacos. Both items were $4 a piece with large portions! All of the food was delicious. Also enjoyed the housemade Alabama white sauce. Will definitely return for many meals.
Edit, just ate here for lunch and the brisket sandwich and fries were very good. The brisket was piled high and the fries were ample and tasty (definitely not something that came in frozen). Ver friendly staff.

Absolutely delicious! My husband had the pulled pork sandwich, we split a burnt end sandwich and I had the pulled pork nachos. We couldn’t decide on whether to get fries, so the owner offered to throw just a few fries in the bag. None of the meat needed any sauce-it was flavored perfectly! Service was fast and friendly-We will definitely be going back again!

Great food! The potato salad is rich and creamy, as is the Mac n cheese, and if coughs meat! It’s delicious and served generously on the bun. The New Orleans sauce is my favorite. Ending the meal with banana pudding was perfect. Thank you for the food and the great experience!!

Ordered some take out from here for the first time and ordered the brisket sandwich and it was delicious. Just wish it was smothered in barbecue sauce. LOL
Also got the potato fries with nacho cheese and it was good too. It’s probably the best barbecue this side of town!

This is so good!!! You have to get the Armadillo egg for everyone in your group. Burnt ends were incredible, and loved the brisket and pulled pork. So worth it!
Owner was kind too!

The couple running the joint is very friendly and pleasing to chat up. The BBQ is done right with rubbed ribs that are done the way ribs should be done. We didn’t see the jalapeño sausage on the menu and they brought out a few peices to try. It was delicious. The brisket was also fantastic. They are coming around to their first year in business and I believe they’ll become a staple. This place is doing pit BBQ justice!
