Dog Mountain Coffee is a cozy spot with a nice, relaxed atmosphere. I went with friends, and it’s a great place for studying or getting some work done. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.

I ordered a hot chocolate with two shots of espresso, which was good. I came back the next day and got an Americano with an extra double shot- strong, but I liked it even more than my first order. Definitely a place I’d return to.

This little coffee shop located between Boone and Banner Elk is an easy 5 STAR!!!! Adorable inside and out. Delicious coffee and had the Apple Pastry and it was amazing. Met the owner, Teddy, and she was very kind and delightful and she understands what it takes to deliver on a wonderful experience. My Wife loves several other coffee shops in the area but said Mountain Dog Coffee is her FAVORITE! Well done MDC.

This is an absolute must-visit when in Boone NC. It is a little bit out of town, and still super easy to get to. The atmosphere is wonderful, very dog friendly, has a dog park, great outdoor seating area, plenty of parking, and a super nice team. Their coffee drinks are tasty, and topped by the amazing home baked pastries. The pistachio cake is the very best cake of the pastry selection. Their scones are also awesome, and the cinnamon role top yummy. Make sure you stop by! Don’t miss out. My score an easy 5.0.

What a lovely place! I just visited for the first time today, and I’ve been missing out. Lots of places to sit, a dog park behind the shop, and a truly perfect latte. If you are anywhere near Boone, I recommend a trip out to Foscoe to support this local business.
Forgot to add-they have a drive through window if you want that option.

Mountain Dog Coffee has almost everything you would want in a coffee shop! There’s an abundance of indoor seating options and a slightly shaded, but not covered, outdoor patio. There is a lot of natural light and plants, giving the inside a warm environment. The food options are very good, I particularly enjoyed the cinnamon roll gluten free pistachio coffee cake. I got a blueberry vanilla latte and liked it, but I think the flavors could’ve been a bit stronger. There’s a dog park out back for a small daily use fee (I think it was $4). Dogs are welcome on the outdoor patio, but they are not allowed inside.

We started out Grandfather Mountion day here and WOW, what a great find!! Friendly service and a special “steak, egg and cheese” breakfast croissant sandwich on the menu. I took the chefs advice and opted for pimento cheese and what came out was nothing less then breakfast perfection (it even had a touch of horseradish added. I made sure to meet and personally thank chef Bobby for his unique and delectable creation!!!

One of my new favorite places in the Boone area when I go. There is no shortage of coffee shops in the Boone/ Blowing Rock area but Mountain Dog offers a little more than average – a dog park and much more.

There are small freezers with Sheppard’s pie’s and other pies as well as cakes and biscuits. The food is a little pricey but they are all hefty meals.

The coffee selection is a honest selection of a typical coffee shop but there is a special menu that is separate from the main “traditional” menu. The special menu is a compilation of special drinks (dog inspired). We tried the goldendoodle which was golden milk with chai and it was really good.

The staff was quick and helpful and fun to talk with. This place is highly recommended!

This was one of my favorite coffee shops after living in various places across the US and visiting coffee shops around the world (I have lived locally for five years now) even though this coffee shop only opened recently. Great idea, location, and coffee, but I recently had an awful and awkward experience. After sitting down for about 55 minutes, I was asked to leave the coffee shop. I had not even finished my coffee yet, and it was extremely awkward… I was told that the tables needed to be opened up because of how busy they were, but there were several tables still open. I was also told that they have a one hour limit on sitting in the coffee shop, which is a bit bizarre regardless of how busy you are (I also had not even been there for an hour). I feel extremely strange about the experience, I am really upset about what happened and sad that I do not feel like returning to what was once one of my favorite spots with great workers. I’ve never even written a review for a business before today, but had to share so that hopefully others don’t make the mistake that I did of thinking that this was a nice place to sit and have a drink… I have been a longtime customer but I’m unsure if I’ll ever go back. I have taken probably upwards of a dozen friends here and regularly bought little birthday gifts for friends here so this is unfortunate. Obviously I did not make it an issue and I understand that the owner likely wants to get more business, but it felt as if this coffee shop is strictly for tourists now. I felt like locals are a nuisance. Will likely be sticking to coffee shops in the town of Boone from now on 🙁
