⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 – Great Food, Big Portions, and Reliable Take-Out!
I ordered from Panda Island today for take-out and was really impressed. I got the crispy ginger beef with fried rice, and it was fantastic — super flavourful, still crispy, and not greasy at all. My dad had the beef and veggie chow fun, which he loved. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the beef was tender.
The portions were big, easily worth the price, and everything was packed well and stayed hot on the way home. Overall, a great take-out experience and one of the best Chinese spots in Victoria. I’ll definitely be ordering again!

The meals we’ve ordered have had little sauce, needed seasoning, (never had to add salt to Chinese food before) and the extra veggies with combo meals amount to a few bok choy pieces and some onions. The meals have been disappointing, only prefer from them as they are close by, we won’t be ordering from them again.

This is the best Chinese food restaurant in Victoria, maybe even on the whole island. Everything we ordered (crispy noodles chicken Chow Mein, schechuan chicken, beef fried rice and sweet and sour pork) were so so good! The only negative is that we can’t eat Chinese food from anywhere else now. It’s that good.

Highly recommend! Amazing spot for classic American style Chinese food. The food was flavourful and the portions were perfect. Ordered takeout and the food was ready on time within 20 minutes.

Edit – returned this past weekend and Panda Island was just as awesome as I remembered!! Highly recommend!! Had the combo plate again and added the vegetable chop suey. It was quick, delicious, and the price was beyond reasonable. Highly recommend!!!
Went for supper as was craving Chinese. Had the combo plate for 1 and added the vegetable chop suey. The chop suey was excellent. The sauce was salty and garlicky in all the right ways.
I choose the chicken balls for my combo. It had canned pineapple in the sauce which I know is a thing but not my favorite. The sauce on the chicken itself was nice. Just not a fan of canned pineapple.

I tried the chicken ball combo with chowmein, it arrived hot and delicious. The chicken balls were sort of crispy which was great they weren’t soggy. Added the vegetables for $2 extra, not very many but a nice addition. Chowmein tasted good, a little on the oily side but it didn’t give me a stomach ache how sometimes Chinese food does. Would order again! Oh PS was surprised there wasn’t a fortune cookie but NBD lol

Not sure why there are low reviews because my experiences here have always been excellent. Every order has been fresh, delicious, and consistent. The service is quick, efficient, and friendly too. I’ve tried the House Special Fried Rice and the Beef Brisket Curry, which actually reminds me of the famous Mui Garden version on the mainland, absolutely comforting and flavorful. It’s hard to find an amazing Chinese restaurant on the island, and Panda Island Cuisine is definitely a reliable go-to spot in Oak Bay!

I am so impressed! By far best Chinese food I’ve had in Victoria. I got the Shanghai thick noodles (so hard to find places that do this dish well!) and two veggie dishes. The staff was so kind and helpful with my vegetarian modifications. Can’t wait to order from here again. This would also be a great place to dine in with friends and family. Thank you Panda Island for a wonderful dinner. 🙂

Wasn’t impressed with the flavours here.
The chicken fried rice had literally no flavour at all, it just tasted like plain white rice.
The schezuan fish was mostly just oily but at least had a good variety of veggies.
The chicken chow mein was actually pretty good but only because the noodles themselves were tasty, it had virtually no veggies (it might have had 2 pieces of onion and a bean sprout or two in the entire dish), it was just noodles with some chicken.
The spring rolls were crispy but again, not much flavour in there.
I did enjoy the deep fried cheese wontons, I’ve never had those before.

Cleanest restaurant on Vancouver Island. Love the won ton soup, salt pepper squid are the best and most consistent I’ve ever had. Crispy Cantonese noodles and beef/veggies chow fun are so so good! Great service!!! EASY 5 STARS!!!
