The building is what first caught my eye it stood out from everything else. When I called to place my order the young lady who answered was very nice and professional. The wait i had on my order was short, and the price was fair. Everything i ordered was great my wings and fries down to the drink (half sweet tea half lemonade). This is my second time trying their food. Last week I noticed the building and decided to try it out. I ordered a chicken sandwich and waffle fries with a sweet tea. They gave me half a dozen doughnuts as well and the food was good. The coleslaw was piled on top and the taste was great. Fries were fresh and good as well. The Tea was sweet but you could taste that it’s well water or sat awhile. So I just back from a 7h road trip and was starving and they were open so I ordered the same thing as last week and it’s less than sub-par. Barely any coleslaw on the sandwich and it was mixes with sauce. Fries are over cooked and hard. No doughnuts
And the tea was unsweetened and disgusting. When I arrived to the building I stood there for 5 minutes or so before tapping on the counter because the employee was watching videos on his phone. Said then it would be 15 minutes so I waited. Got my order (without doughnuts, which I was craving) and left. Got home to open the food and it’s over cooked and less than what I recieved last week. Granted it was 4pm last week when I went and 9pm tonight, it’s still a huge difference and not nearly worth the $17.00 I spent.

This chicken spot is amazing! Top notch! Service is amazing, very friendly staff, The food is made by order and always hot and fresh!! The portion size is incredible! My favorite would be the chicken tenders and the Cajun fries! Also banana pudding is a must grab!!

The chicken “tenders” are basically chicken breast cut in half and breaded. I live 5 minutes away and by the time I got home the chicken was so soggy on the bottom and the breading wouldn’t stay on. The bread isn’t buttered and is barely toasted. I was so looking forward to that perfect tender crunch bite, but unfortunately this order was anything but.

The first time I went was at their grand opening, and it was one of the weirdest yet communal openings I’ve EVER been to. They had axe-throwing, a bouncy house, free food, and even a race between Jojo the Chicken and an Easter Bunny LOL. The craziest part was most definitely the Cluckin’ Wild Tenders challenge! The challenge required them to eat 3 tenders (spicier than the Carolina Reaper) and last 3 minutes without drinking milk. It was INSANE!! There were only 2 people who fulfilled the challenge; the first beast got $500, the second got $250.
I’ve been back a couple of times since, because of distance, and every time I am around, I make sure I stop for Jojo’s Hot Chicken in Newark. They also have a drive-through! The people are nice, and the spot really feels like an old-school hangout for everyone. Each time I go, I see a bunch of teens and families having a good time.
Well, I obviously recommend. Fresh food, cool people.
I heard they’re opening a restaurant called “The Bodega” almost down the street. From what I’ve seen and what I’ve been told… bro Newark is going to go crazyyyyy over the designs and the variety of options! I’m coming back in town just for their grand opening in a couple of weeks!!!

Family went Husband and myself had a chicken sandwich with the #4 hot sauce and grandson had loaded fries with the hottest sauce. It was absolutely excellent! Service was incredible! Will definitely go back! Love this place ❤️
