The Mexican food the adults ordered was pretty good. The service was ok. The kids burgers were seasoned with something that was very outputting to the children. Kids burgers are NOT recommended.

We were on our way from Aspen to Boulder when we found this place somewhere in the middle. It was like a hidden gem. Amazing food and everything was made fresh. Loved it! Quiet and cozy. Portions are good size. Salsa and chips were complimentary and delicious. Keep it up guys!!

This place is awesome. In copper mountain but not near the lodge so not many people. Food was awesome and authentic. Really reasonably priced. Loved the guacamole homemade chips and salsa! The veggie burrito was super good and the kids loved the chicken burritos too. Super good! Service was awesome. Totally recommend to anyone skiing in copper

Casa Sanchez in Copper Mountain has closed and El Zacatecano has opened in it’s place. If you liked Casa Sanchez you’ll like El Zacatecano, but if you didn’t like it the same will also be true. Reason being that I didn’t find any differences between the two.
Aside from a new sign out front, the space looks identical on the outside. And absolutely very little has changed on the inside. The same booths that are badly in need of repair are still there. There does appear to be a fresh coat of paint on the inside, which does help brighten up the space.
Inside I couldn’t tell that much had changed with the food either. The place my food was served on was the same blue plate I had a year prior. The rice was the same, and the beans too. I had a medium combination plate with a chimichanga and an enchilada ($12.99). Pretty average tex-mex food here.
There aren’t a ton of places to eat in Copper, and this is the only Mexican around, so there isn’t a lot of competition. I just had hoped for more when I heard that the Mexican place had changed, but then I soon realized that not much had truly changed.

Amazing place to stop for authentic Mexican food. Best chips and salsa I’ve ever had. The staff is super friendly and accommodating to all dietary restrictions. The food came out extremely fast as well. I’ve you need to recharge after a long day on the mountain this is the place to stop.

it’s the best in the resort! We ate here many times during our stay and I just have to say it is wonderful the food is tasty the drinks are amazing. The large margarita natural is so delicious! My wife and I shared the large margarita and it was phenomenal! We will be back! Ignore the bad reviews they are privileged! This place is amazing!
