Decent pizza nt the greatest not the worst, got the 10 inch special with mushrooms and pepperoni. the mushrooms were fresh and not canned pepperoni was nice and spicy. the dough was undercooked and tasted frozen.

The past 2 times we’ve ordered pizza, it was undercooked. The bottoms were pale and floppy, and the cheese was completely white, no brown spots. We used to go here frequently and it was better. I’m not sure what happened but I won’t go back again especially when there are more consistent options.

We always order for delivery. The delivery man is timely and friendly, and the pizza is always hot. We have several favorites among the gourmet pizzas—they are well-made with good ingredients, and there’s a style for every taste. (I have eaten at their location once. It’s fine there, but we usually enjoy our pizza with a game or a movie at home.)

I come to the Northern VA area 3-4 times a year and Monterey’s is a must eat place. The pizza at this spot exceeds pizzas I’ve had in Europe. The pizza has a lighter sauce amount than the standard pizza and the crust is not as filling as most restaurants. This reminds me of Italian pizza when I used to live in Italy. This is how pizza is supposed to be.

Monterey’s Pizza is a hidden gem in Alexandria. I’m not exaggerating when I say that the pizza sauce is incredible. The hot honey pizza is our favorite. I dare say it’s better than Andy’s! Please come into the restaurant and support this local business vs. using Uber and Door Dash, which takes an unfair percentage from the restaurant. It’s worth it, I promise!

Best pizza around! Any of the gourmet pizzas are fantastic but especially the BBQ Chicken pizza is amazingly good. Super busy location, so order online for pickup or come in afternoon when not as crowded. Depending upon who is at register, personality/friendliness can be mixed (as other posts mentioned) but you are paying for pizza not a new best friend!
