Friendly Atmosphere found here. Relaxing Patio area in the back. Ask for Herb, he provided the best customer service at this establishment. Stay for a while and enjoy the cold ones! Cheers!

Great place to have beer and play some pool. Music was good too, the margarita was definitely not something I’d get again but the place was great.

The overall atmosphere at Broken Tap is a bit unusual. The DJ seemed to be playing music that he personally enjoys, but the selection was not current and leaned towards early 2000’s music, which didn’t quite fit the vibe of the place. If you’re able to, it’s recommended to opt for outdoor seating since the interior has a sewage-like odor that’s hard to ignore.

Despite the unpleasant smell, the bartender was friendly and efficient. However, it’s possible that the bar carries older liquor, as the alcohol had an unusual taste that I couldn’t quite get past. I usually prefer to drink straight, but in this case, I wasn’t able to enjoy the drink due to the strange taste.

Overall, Broken Tap could benefit from some improvements in their music selection, odor control, and liquor offerings. However, the quick and friendly service from the bartender was a plus.

Seems this place is running under new management and a new set of rules. Ambiance was much better with indoor and outdoor seating. Plenty of room to social distance, which is what we were worried about. We don’t mind a busy place just don’t want to be packed in like sardines. Good variety of drinks to choose from, spacious, pool tables and a small dance floor. Well at least I think it was a dance floor, if not the wife and I turned it into one and other guests followed. Dj Music was absolutely fantastic. Great variety of old, new, English and Spanish. Was also taking requests. I would have given 5 stars but it was slightly pricier than other establishments I’ve visited. All in all, great night out. Definitely be back.

Server was rude and I left to go to Whataburger across the street. He later showed up at Whataburger and verbally accosted the staff. This guy should not be in the service industry!

Best place to play pool in Harlingen. Great ambiance, staff, quality drinks and widest variety of beers in town.

The service at the counter was satisfactory. I had been playing pool there for four hours and left a gratuity in the jar at the counter.

After about five hours, I decided to close my tab. I noticed I was charged an additional gratuity because my total bill exceeded $100.

Remarkably, there was no signage within the establishment indicating that gratuity would be added beyond a certain dollar amount. When I approached the owner to address this matter, I was promptly redirected to the general manager.

Despite the general manager returning my original gratuity, the underlying issue remains unresolved. It is imperative that a clear and conspicuous sign be prominently displayed within the premises to inform customers about the gratuity policy.

The general manager’s decision to personally reimburse me for the additional gratuity demonstrates his willingness to cover the cost. However, this action falls short of addressing the fundamental need for transparent communication regarding gratuity charges.
