Good food. Good service. Nice atmosphere. Plenty of TVs. New owner. Spoiler alert: soon to be called the Rowdy Rooster. A little expensive, but everything is in Garrett County. Nice portion size, so price isn’t bad. I had the cheesecake and myvwife had the chicken wrap.

Stopped in with my folks and had the Giuseppe sub with fries. We also had onion rings as an appetizer. The onion rings with ranch dipping sauce were perfect. The Giuseppe sub was fantastic! The roll was perfectly toasted and warm. The fries were top notch, they were seasoned well with a nice crispy exterior and soft inside. My folks got burgers that were cooked exactly how they were ordered. The service was fantastic, attentive, and friendly! The atmosphere was perfect for relaxing/catching a sports game!

Local here, I rarely give 5 star reviews but I was very impressed by this restaurant – anything but average! Good price point, and it’s nice to have a more casual setting near the lake. The environment atmosphere were very comfortable including outdoor seating. The food and price point were reasonable considering the portion size. And lastly the service was excellent. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back! Hoping for a more expansive menu in the future.

Average is a perfect name for this place. We had a party of 6, and they ended up cramming us into two tables in the center of the restaurant with very little room between our chairs and the table behind us. Keep in mind that 1/2 of this place is a humongous bar. Our waitress was new(ish) and very sweet and probably the best part of our meal even though she didn’t take our order correctly or check on us after we received our meals which 5 of the 6 had an issue.
Our order consisted of:
* The Guiseppe (Italian hoagie) – we were told it was a baked sandwich and the bread was warm but the meat was ice cold.
* 2 Philly Cheesesteaks w/ mayo on the side – both came with mayo on the sandwich and on the side.
* 2 cheeseburgers – incredibly bland
* mushroom Swiss burger – bland but was the most liked food item we got.
After dropping our food off, the waitress disappeared so we had a choice of “wait for her to tell her and let our food get cold” or suck it up and eat it. After 10 minutes, we decided on the latter. When she finally did come to check on us and we told her, she responded with “I wish you would have said something before you ate half of it.”
I hate giving 1* reviews, but this place was horrible, and I wouldn’t go back if it were the only restaurant open. There are so many great restaurants in the area and unfortunately, this one isn’t one unless you want “average” (at best) food at high prices.
This review is from a visit in August 2024.

The name says it all; average! Just another overpriced, lake-area place with decent food, high prices, hidden ad-ons and nothing to draw us back. Start with the $8.00 “bowl” of chili that was no more than a cup. A very meager serving for the price. Decent chili otherwise. Then, a Philly Cheese Steak for $16 until you get the bill. Then be prepared to pay for the onions, the peppers, the mushrooms even though the menu says pick what you want on it with NO MENTION of any up-charge either on the menu of by the waitress!! Also, $4.00 extra for fries. Really?? I could go on but enough said. Been there, tried it, wanted to like it but a big fail for us sorry to say.
The following is an addition in response to the owners response to me. Just to clarify, there appears to be nowhere on the menu as you state that indicates that there is an up charge for onions, green peppers, or mushrooms. I even pressed the waitress on this issue and she said she had no idea that there was an extra charge until I pointed it out on our bill. I asked her to show it to me on the menu and she said it’s not on the menu. So there seems to be some confusion and I would appreciate some clarification if I am wrong on this. And, fresh cut fries are still just potatoes!

I recently went here while staying at the inn right across the street. Service was prompt and friendly. I ordered a Texan burger with onion rings and a drink. The burger was excellent, cooked perfectly, and with a savory, slightly-salty taste. My only complaint about the rings is that I’d prefer a sauce (e.g. chipotle aioli) instead of ketchup. The pricing was a bit high, but nothing too outrageous.

Our server was so sweet! We had a large group and she was so accommodating. I don’t remember her name but she helped us move from a smaller table to a bigger table when it cleared out so we were more comfortable. The food was great, she was very attentive and I definitely recommend stopping to check this place out!

We had excellent burgers at a fair price and a couple of beers. My wife had Miller Lite at $2 and I had two Sam Adams drafts at $8 each. Correct eight dollars each. Fool me once but not again. $16 for my two drafts. As a local you have turned me off.

Server was fast and attentive. Burger was perfect. Soup of the day, chicken noodle, was very good. Dining area was bright and cheerful. Everything was very clean. We will go back for another visit, for sure.
