Spare-Time Grill is the definition of a hidden gem. From the outside alone, you can tell it’s something special — that cute, old-school diner vibe with the vintage sign just pulls you in. It feels nostalgic in the best way.

The food absolutely delivered. The burnt goetta was the star of the plate — perfectly crispy on the outside with so much flavor in every bite. The eggs were fluffy, the home fries were seasoned and cooked just right, and those pancakes were golden, buttery perfection. Everything tasted homemade and comforting.

But what really made it stand out was the service. Everyone was so genuinely kind and welcoming — we felt right at home the entire time. It’s the kind of place where you can tell they care about their customers.

Great food, cozy atmosphere, and the sweetest staff. We’ll definitely be back again soon.

I went for the very first time today with my husband. The atmosphere is so cute, it gives little ice cream shop but also old-timey Diner feel. The food was great my burger was made with fresh meat smashed on the grill with seasonings which is hard to find these days. It’s hard to get fresh beef not frozen. Everybody was so polite and the cook changed his gloves between touching the raw meat and the vegetables go on it, proper cooking hygiene is hard to find these days also. Lunch was just a little over 20 bucks, can’t beat it!

Good food cooked fresh. Good service. Clean and organized space. Reasonably priced. Limited seating though, not ideal for large groups, unless your just stoping for an ice cream and go.

Love the atmosphere!@ grew up in area and so thankful its open and almost the same as when I was a kid. Food could be better. Orange juice was great and now I won’t ever order again. The goetta is over cooked forsure. But I appreciate the efforts!!!.

Our family of four had a absolutely beautiful meal. Ingredients were very fresh, service was prompt + kind, and the desserts topped off a wonderful day for us perfectly. Their ice cream reminded me of the type my grandmother would make homemade. Their spice on their fries and burgers were super good (our picky daughter even loved it). Our whole family was very happy with our meal here.

Well, it was ok. When we first walked in we were not even greeted with the hello and we sat down and waited for about 5 minutes for one of the three young ladies to come over and ask us if we knew what we wanted to order. So I ordered the spare time burger without a tomato which is sort of like a big boy. Without sauce. Or a Big Mac? Anyhow, I ordered a side of onion rings and ended up getting onion chips and one onion ring. They must have run out of onion rings because there was only about seven chips and one ring. Never had any conversation with any of the three girls behind the counter. I had to ask three times to get water. The food was okay. Burgers were a little bland no seasoning. I wish I knew that I would have put my own salt and pepper on them. For the value the burger was okay. Onion rings not worth ordering at all. I will have a photograph of my order.

First time in with my husband and we were immediately greeted and serviced with such a great staff. The food and drinks were served quickly, and the staff was very aware of their customers and their needs. The food was absolutely delicious and I’m looking forward to coming back.

$3 for a single thin goetta slice is too hard of a sell for me. Food is good enough, people are nice, but you’re going to pay restaurant prices for diner food.

An old fashioned diner, that brought back memories of growing up in N.J. Went for breakfast, which was very good. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Look forward to going again soon.
