We were looking for a great, reliable Chinese takeout restaurant and tried Happy Garden for the first time. Hubby and I give it a solid B and would order from them again.
– BBQ pork chow mein: I judge a Chinese restaurant based on their chow mein and Happy Garden’s was really good! It wasn’t dry, it was flavorful, and tasty. They also packed the container full!
– Kung pao chicken: Also really good and flavorful, but there were more water chestnuts than chicken
– Eggplant in hot garlic sauce: Good, but way too oily
– Salt and pepper pork chops: WAY too salty. wouldn’t order this again.

I ordered online , the food was horrendous. I ordered egg rolls they were tasteless and only had cabbage with some block specks (hope it wasn’t bugs). The orange chicken tasted like barf with hot wing sauce on it . The pork chow mein was the only edible thing in my order and it was bland and greasy.

Overpriced and disappointing. The egg rolls were basically just cabbage drowned in black pepper. Service was unpleasant—they kept hounding for a tip, pointing at the receipt, even though another family member was already leaving cash. No refills offered at all. Definitely not worth the money or hassle.
