I recently visited Oliver’s on my way home. I tried the Carolina Gold Pulled Chicken sandwich, with a side salad. I picked up wings for my husband with the 7 Pepper dry rub. The young female bartender took my order. She was friendly, professional and kind. I talked with the owner, Thomas, while waiting on my order. He was very friendly and told me a lot about the transition from Church St. to Rivermont Ave. I got home later and ate my dinner. The sandwich had a big helping of chicken and cole slaw. I however, did not like the BBQ sauce. I guess I’m more of a sweet BBQ person. The side salad was very good, however, my dressing was missing. No biggie, as I was at home. My husband and I both loved the wings (he shared with me). I am not a wing person, but these were delicious and affordable. So many other places in town overcharge, imo. I will definitely go back in the near future and try something else.

I had a mixed experience here. I had been confused by the new ownership and addition of the 801 Raw Bar, but it also keeping signage of Oliver’s outside. I had assumed Oliver’s was still the name of the restaurant entirely and had simply added seafood to the menu. My food was very good and quickly made, but the two menus were confusing. Particularly since I had looked at the menu posted online and they were not at all the same. They gave a seafood menu and general menu, but each menu still had many similar options but some with different prices and changes. I thought the seafood menu would only list the seafood, but it included many other things as well. I had a relevantively new server it seemed and she was very attentive. I was mostly bothered by a couple children running and screaming around for a time and the person there who seemingly was meant to care for them was not doing a great job of it. After they left, I was able to have a more peaceful time as I seemed to be one of the only customers at the time. I came closer to around closing and hadn’t realized. The manager was kind enough to accept a gift card I had for Oliver’s not knowing it was an older version that doesn’t incorporate their newer software. He explained the issues of naming and confusion of the ownership with 801 and Oliver’s. Beginning in March, 801 Raw Bar will be the official name of the establishment.

I think this place deserves a ranking. It’s got great food and a great atmosphere. The staff has always been outgoing and on point every time I have been in there. So, if you are looking for a place to get an amazing burger and fries this is it. I can’t order anything else but their burgers every time I go lol… they are so delicious! I’m sure their menu is really good other than the burgers… I just don’t know, lol. They also have great beers on tap to pair with their menu. I’d say give them a go and I’d give it a solid 4.6!

We’ve been here several times usually between 1 and 3 pm, after playing some golf. We love the food here. Burgers are very tasty and this time we tried the Fish and Chips and it was excellent. The fries also are great. Homemade, not the skinny batter kind, these are nice and fat slices from real potatoes. Our server told us that the Brussels sprouts side is very good also and so my hubby had to try it. It was over the top delicious. I’m not a fan of Brussel sprouts but this was amazing, light and crispy with some kind of beautiful seasoning sauce on it. He laughed because I ate more of that than my Fish and Chips. They have all kinds of draft beer and your regular wines, bar appears to have plenty of hard liquor also. The atmosphere is very charming inside and we usually like to eat in the bar side room so we can watch golf or football on one of their many TV’s. Love that this is a locally owned restaurant and you can do some light shopping right next door. Check Oliver’s out. Say hello to Cam the manager and order the Fish and Chips and a side of Brussel sprouts it’s the bomb!

I was lured in by the goldens and stayed for the food. Did not disappoint!
This place is amazing!! My husband and I ate here for our anniversary. We started with the mozzarella logs — delicious. My husband got a NY sour and I got the pomegranate martini, both very good. We ordered two burgers, I got the brisket burger and my husband got the bacon jam; both were very juicy and made with high quality beef. We finished off the night with the cheesecake!
Service did NOT suffer even though they were short staffed. Our water cups were always filled and everyone was very pleasant.
The only things that could improve- my burger was supposed to have coleslaw and did not this time (I stole some of my husband’s so I didn’t miss out). No points deducted though (short staffed and two days before Christmas). Also, the restaurant side was a little chilly.
Overall, we are sold! Thank you for a great night everyone.

Love the new ownership that has recently taken over the place. The chicken wings are absolutely phenomenal so many flavors to choose from and very good pricing. Amazing atmosphere on the inside or a great place for a to go order to bring home.

When I saw this restaurant was under new management I thought I would give it a try (the old Oliver’s wasn’t great). I’m so glad I did! The food and service was amazing ! I had the chicken sandwich with crab dip. Wow! So good! It came with a small salad or fries. I chose the salad and it was really good with yummy homemade salad dressings. If you came before and were not impressed, try again. You won’t be disappointed. .

Yuck! Greasy bar food. Soggy, brussel sprouts, strangely textured French onion soup, extremely greasy quesadillas, deep fried cheese curds that are the worst we ever had. Seek other food source unless you are desperate. 🙂

This was our first time at Oliver’s and it will NOT be our last!! We went in the second day of their brunch menu and WOW. The chicken and waffles were perfectly crispy and fluffy and the Hashbrown skillet was so filling and stuffed with flavor The chefs in the kitchen know what they’re doing!
Our waitress, Sabrina as well as her brother who made our amazing drinks (Eight O One Bar) were attentive, super knowledgeable and willing to make small accommodations for us to make our meal that much more enjoyable!
We didn’t catch the hostesses name on the way out, but her candy cane earrings and warm personality were such a nice welcome upon entering
We can’t wait to return for happy hour, everyday, lunch/dinner and karaoke!

This use to be our favorite place for burgers. Very recently it came under new ownership. When we came in a few days after the new owner took over he greeted us at our table, gloating that he had laid off the original staff in favor of new. We specifically asked if the menu would stay the same, especially the burgers. He assured us that the burgers would remain on the menu. The second time we came in after he took over was abysmal. We found our seat, waited for someone to take our order for almost thirty minutes, and discovered the burgers Oliver’s was known for were off the menu in favor of a seafood menu (for context, he owns eight o one downtown). My wife got a smash burger by special request since it isn’t displayed on the menu anymore. I got a fish sandwich. Her burger was very salty, and my fish had no flavor. Kind of ironic for a guy who owns a place that advertises a raw seafood bar at BOTH restaurants now. I hate to say it but our favorite place was ruined by new management, and we will not be returning. It seems to be the case with others as well this new owner is tanking Oliver’s, and it almost seems intentional.
