We were fumbling around with where to eat on a Saturday afternoon and landed on a never visited SS.
First visit, was a little confusing. Kiosks AND a register with an unmanned counter. We placed our order on the kiosk which was fairly smooth for a first-time user. We tried the pump ketchup out of the ketchup dispensers but both of them were empty, I asked an employee for some ketchup or to refill the ketchup and he delivered ketchup packets, no big deal that was a great solution. The trash was completely overfilled and we were unable to empty our trash from our trays into the trash can. The worker appeared overwhelmed but was doing the best he could. They appeared understaffed.
The burger was completely average. This is an average burger but touted as a premium burger as suggested by the price point.
The tots were good. The service person was nice, but overwhelmed. The restaurant was overrun with full trashcans, and took around 25 minutes to get one burger and an order of tots.
This was our 1st and last visit to the ridiculously over-priced burger joint.
We tried the new milk shake on the menu and loved them! Also the passion fruit with the pomegranate mini boba is super flavorful!.
My husband had never had one and was eager to try it, so off we went. Me being somewhat a creature of habit – I played it safe and went with my “go to” which is the double Shackburger w/extra cheese, mustard, pickle, onion – Shack sauce on the side. I asked for the fries to be well done. My husband and son both ordered the Shake Shack Truffle Burger.
Now let me keep it a buck here. As a self proclaimed cheeseburger connoisseur this is not one of the best burgers I’ve ever had but it was enjoyable. My husband and son both really enjoyed their truffle burgers. Our fries were cooked the way we like – no complaints there.
My husband – poor thing – didn’t realize the truffle burgers were limited edition and wanted to go to Shake Shack a couple of weeks later with our son to bond over their new found mutual enjoyment of the truffle burger. When my son informed him they were not being sold anymore for awhile – he was a cross between hurt, mad, sad and indignant.
The night we visited this location, Elijah took our order. He was very personable and his customer service was on pointl. He repeated our order back to us to check for accuracy and took our payment with a smile and a “thank you”! He asked us to pull over in the carryout space and promised to bring our order right out when it was ready.
We waited a few minutes and Elijah followed through on his promise. When we arrived home to eat the food was still hot and fresh. Everything was prepared beautifully and we proceeded to devour our morsels.
Elijah was definitely the highlight of our visit and made sure our food was prepared to our order specifications. He provided an experience that made me alter a previous review for this location because he worked to elevate our experience and repair the relationship for experiences we’ve had in the past here that weren’t so pleasant.
Perhaps they’re working to turn things around and Elijah is a great step forward in that direction.
So to quick1ly recap here, my husband is bothered he can’t get a truffle burger for awhile. This isn’t one of the best burgers I’ve ever had but it was enjoyable. You know it’s not what you do but how you do it. Maybe the food tasted better this time because we were made to feel valued as a customer. Something to ponder.
So first. You walk in and order on a touchscreen. No meal deals.
It’s pick burger. Pick side. Pick drink.
I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen a burger shack that has no 3 group meals.
But if they want to be different I guess that’s on them..
So after a loud experience with families being extremely loud and I can’t hear my spouse trying to talk to me, about 20 minutes later someone brings out the food!
I got the single truffle burger because that’s what they’re known for. I would say it’s about as big as the mc double. Small jr style. Absolutely flavorless burger.
The truffle fries had a side dish of truffle butter?
It made my mouth numb? I’m not sure, never had this interesting item before . I can definitely live with out.
Drink was watered down kinda reminds me of fake soda? (Coke)..
Finalize my experience.
For the price I paid, loud people, tasteless food, truffle fungus that had my mouth weird and wait for the order, I can definitely say with out a doubt I would never come back.
Being different is cool I guess.
Hope it works out for the business!
