Exceptional experience from start to finish! The customer service at this bakery was outstanding. I needed a custom birthday cake, and they delivered perfection – it looked stunning and tasted even better. The cake helped create wonderful family memories that we’ll cherish. The husband and I stepped in here out of curiosity while we were in the area because we’d heard they’d been around for such a long time.
Among the copious shelves of breads and pastries, what immediately caught my attention was the doughnuts (so much that I’m surprised few reviews mention them). Forget your traditional glazed and cinnamon sugar bites; there are no boring doughnuts here. Instead, my eyes goggled the decadent s’mores and colorful fruit pebble doughnuts. I was especially taken by the Scotch doughnuts, all which were impaled with a little pipette of actual liquor. The offerings range from the traditional to the extremely bold and inventive, and to see that at a pastry shop that’s been around as long as Butterflake has is certainly to be commended.
We were surprised at the lively throngs of people who were crammed in there on a random weekday afternoon. There didn’t seem to be a line or any sort of order; just a lot of displays and counters with people behind them. That, along with the dimly lit interior and slightly disheveled appearance, lent to a general feeling of chaos. In spite of that, the folks behind the counter worked quickly through the crowds and made sure everyone was seen and helped.

Bought 3 packs of this raisin bread from PARVE BUTTERFLAKE. I have to say the wrappings were excellent. However, I am very disappointed with the description related to it being raisin bread. I LIVE RAISINS and to my surprise this SO CALL RAISIN BREAD ONLY HAVE 4 raisins on and top and NOT one single raisin inside the bread. Also the bread is dried out. I WILL NEVER NEVER BUY FROM THIS PLACE AGAIN. I should stick with my last raisin bread purchase from NAVVAD BAKERY. It’s the best.

Yesterday, I went to pick up my order. Instead of someone calling me ahead of time to tell me they don’t have strawberries for my strawberry shortcake, they had me waiting for almost a half hour trying to fix my cake for me. They fixed the cake by using can strawberries instead of fresh strawberries and then the owner told me it was my lucky day that I didn’t have to pay for fresh strawberries. By the time I got home, all the can strawberries slid off the cake. This is so sad because this is what we got and it was my mother’s 60th birthday. Being that they waited until the last minute, I had no other choice but to take the cake. I will never order from them again! My mother loves this place but I even told her to never order from them again. They need to communicate in with each other and have better customer service. Not fair at all!

Do not order a custom cake from here. They get every single order wrong as people walk in to pick up their items. One picture is what we sent in, the other picture is the amateur horrendous representation of Elmo.
I do not expect this bakery to last much longer based on the many negative experiences I’ve witnessed. Hopefully they taste better than it looks.

A small, Kosher bakeshop with a limited selection of items when I visited on a weeday afternoon. The rye bread wasn’t bad but the donuts and prepackaged Seven Layer cake was dry and crumbling (which I threw away). Minus an additional star for the unfriendly owner.

Ordered a fruit tart and fell in love with it. The combination of the creme, fruit, and the crust was wonderful. Would definitely recommend purchasing the fruit tart. Also purchased an “elephants ear” which had a nice crunch to it. Would have been nice to eat with a nice hot cup of coffee.
