Home of the Cheesy Western! The Texas Inn is an old school diner with red stools and Southern homemade foods. Burgers, hot dogs, chili, ALL DAY BREAKFAST – and OPEN til MIDNIGHT or later. Good. Fast. Cheap. That’s way we roll. The Texas Inn is one of the oldest diners in Virginia, founded in 1935. Now with four locations – Richmond, Downtown Lynchburg, Cornerstone Lynchburg and Harrisonburg – we still serve “1,500 people, 15 at a time.” Now proudly owned by the Saunders family, including a VCU grad and a JMU grad. #GoRams #GoDukes

Our waitress was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. The service was quick too. As soon as we placed our orders, she cheerfully called them out to the chef, ensuring our patties hit the grill immediately.
And let me tell you, the food was a definite home run, with my Harrison Burger taking the MVP title. The flavor was truly satisfying and had my senses in a whirl! My eyes told me I was biting into a burger, but my mouth was convinced I was enjoying a hot dog.
The burgers and food are cheap but punch well above their price. You want classic styled burger? They got it on lock. Need chili or bacon and onion rings on it? Check. Need delicious fries? Check.
The staff were awesome too and made the food super quick. The lady that rang me up had super cool nails as well.
Clean space, great vibe. Incredible food.
Great prices too!

I recently visited this cozy neighborhood diner, and it was just what I hoped for—classic diner fare done right. The onion rings were a standout: crispy, golden, and absolutely delicious!
The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, making it a great place to unwind. Our waitress was genuinely helpful and added to the pleasant vibe of the place.
One minor hiccup was that our food didn’t all arrive at the same time. My onion rings showed up when I was almost done with my burger, and my friend experienced the same delay. It’s a small thing, but worth mentioning.
This spot is definitely kid-friendly, so it’s perfect for families. What I loved most was the strong community feel—it really seems like a place where locals gather. Plus, the diner was spotless, and the staff were attentive and kind.
Overall, if you’re looking for a laid-back meal in a welcoming environment with great food, this diner is a fantastic choice!
I ordered a double cheeseburger with fries this evening for pick up and it was indistinguishable from a middle school cafeteria. The fries only come in one size, which is about a handful. I am absolutely certain of the fact that they were completely unsalted and I’m 95% sure they were Sysco fries. As in the awful cheap frozen ones that you buy in 30 pound boxes. They were not good at all.
The “double” cheeseburger was hardly the size of what anyone would consider to be a normal single cheeseburger. Yeah yeah I get it they’re doing the whole smash burger gimmick. That’s nice and all but that was the most dry and bland burger I’ve had in a really long time. I got three different condiments on it and it was still somehow devoid of flavor.
Also what is this about a service fee? I only got a burger and fries so the surface fee was only maybe two or three dollars but the idea of that is outrageous. You have a surprise hidden fee for the service of making the food and putting it in a bag? I thought the whole service part was kind of built into the fact that it’s supposed to be a restaurant. It doesn’t matter how much the service fee was it’s the principle of the thing. Can you imagine checking out with your groceries and all of a sudden the cashier tells you oh by the way we did have to stock these shelves and scan those items so it’ll actually be 5% extra.
A “service fee” is just a nonsense way for a business to increase their profit margins without reflecting the actual price on the menu.
Comfort burgers and dogs.
Staff totaly engaging.
The fastest food service I have ever experienced.
